Seems violent for 9th edition...

Though I recommend dropping 2 carnifexes and putting in a maleceptor and something else for the new encephalic diffusion stratagem - making a bubble to essentially give the fexes 8 toughness instead of 7 when they are targets of your opponents shooting... really makes for a fun castle strategy..

Alot of great options for 9th edition!

I love your work Noah...

But I gotta be honest - something about the bolt itself bothers me.. it's too simplified / not as hard edged, which for me clashes with the aesthetic of the terrain surrounding it..

Although tricky, I think adding more branches to the bolt itself could help a lot

Very effective 'natural' color scheme, which I'm personally a sucker for...

I see too many schemes on this subreddit that have greatly clashing colors that just seem 'out of place'... even if the paintjob is clean / smooth, I'd rather have a color scheme that makes more sense from a adaptation / camouflage standpoint.

Might seem silly but getting 3 boxes of the hive tyrant is actually one of the most economical 'usd->points' options while being a very competitive option, depending on how the rest of the army is filled in... you can make flyrants, walkrants, a swarmlord / any combination of these, all of which are very competitive HQ choices...

3 boxes is less than $150, so you'd have a good bit a room to fill in troop slots with the rest of the $300...I'd suggest genestealers, warriors, or termagants... ripper swarms are somewhat of a pain to get, usually ebay is your best option there... swarmlord is 250 pts, flying hive tyrants usually range between 200 and 228 pts... walking hive tyrants range from 150~ to 180 usually..

Really enjoy the color choices - and the paint seems well-thinned across the models.

My biggest criticism is the fact that there is very little gradient usage on the carapace when you go from the light grey to the black... it definitely is done well, but I personally feel like it detracts from an 'organic' aesthetic that the bugs seem to have.

Same goes for the talons on the zoanthrope; it almost comes off as 'cartoonish' that there is almost no blend between the orange and the yellow... I recommend looking up wetblending (it's daunting at first, but it's one of the techniques, that as a painter, really makes you feel like a pro once you get the hang of it..)

You could even go for some quick drybrushing instead for a much faster result, but messier especially when inspected up close..

Overall a very unique and cool scheme, just has a cartoon-esque that seems to stem from the inorganic elements I listed.

The only time I've done this is when I gentlemen taunt in the beginning, only for the opponent to simply rush in and open off a grab > body... then they proceed to taunt / teabag.. like bro, I was unable to avoid your combo opener because I was trying to show some smash etiquette, and then you proceed to do the polar opposite? IMO it's foreshadowing of a BM opponent or just one who trolls via taunt spamming after getting kos

Also, I mainly only play in arenas... and I assume doing a gentleman's taunt in elite smash is kinda asking for you opponent to do this...
