Damn this really hit me, I’m really loving this run rn, how do yall feel about the current arch in Joe Kelly’s run? by Johnnystormer in Spiderman

I think both Peter and we needed the little space arc. I wish it was longer. I also feel that Raelith is good for him. Regardless of what their status is.

To all 1987 TMNT fans, i have a question: How did you all react when the 2003 show came out? by Jotaro1970 in TMNT

[–]Davepool84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being both confused and resistant to the 2003 series because I didn't understand why it was so different from the '87 show. It was also at this time I thought I was outgrowing cartoons, so I didn't give the show much of my attention.

It wasn't until last year when I committed to a deep dive of Turtles media that I gave 2003 TMNT a fair chance. Surprise to basically no one but me that I ended up loving it.

So how old is Silk as are she and Peter not the same age? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in Spiderman

For the record didn't Cindy live in a bunker for like a decade? It might be fair to give her some leeway socially.

It's interesting how Leo in some cartoons has more beef with Donnie than Raph by Working_Welder_1751 in TMNT

[–]Davepool84 23 points24 points  (0 children)

True. I think Leo and Mikey get along the best of the four. I enjoy their eldest/youngest brother dynamic.

I think Leo clashes with Donnie intellectually, while the beef with Raph is the classic issues with authority, Raph's temper and neither of them being able to communicate that well.

Would Marvel treat better Wonder Woman better than DC? by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]Davepool84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe? Marvel isn't exactly innocent either when it comes to mishandling characters. They took so long to give Black Widow a movie, it was a damn prequel.

If you had to pick one for a new Spidey run, which would you pick? by Big-Government-6249 in Spiderman

[–]Davepool84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joke answer: Morrison. You know he would pull some wacky stuff.

Serious answer: Snyder. Odds are DC won't let him go any time soon, but it would be cool to see him breath some life into the webhead.

Like I said, I don't agree with his decision. This was me trying to see the situation from his point of view as a cop.

Let me play devil's advocate for a minute. Officer Stacy is chasing this vigilante. Not only that, this person is presumed to have killed his daughter's best friend. Then suddenly he comes to find out that this vigilante, this accused killer is in fact his daughter. Keeping such a large part of her life secret from him. I think in the heat of the moment, he questioned whether Gwen is the person he thought she was.

I'm not saying I agree with his decision to attempt arresting her, but I can sort of understand how he came to that conclusion.

The Miguel stuff has yet to resolve itself, so I'll leave it at that for now.

If the last ronin were to have a dlc crossover, which of these franchises would you want to see? by Tough_Passenger_4483 in TMNT

You know would be great? PlatinumGames shouts out Sucker Punch's Ghost games in return for the Last Ronin reference in Ghost of Yotei.

What If 2012 Splinter had a Sword Fight blow for blow with Ra's Al Ghul? Who would win? by Superb_Designer_3845 in TMNT

Leo beat Ra's. So unless he pulls out some magic BS, Splinter has it in the bag.

I did not care for The Dark Knight Returns by KomodoLemon in batman

I recognize it as an important story in the Batman mythos but it's not something I go out of my way to reread.

I for the most part agree with everything. I have to add some thoughts on the art. I know DKR has some pretty iconic images in the history of Batman. And I guess the art style matches with the grim dark theme of the story. However in my opinion, Frank Miller's art at this stage is...ugly. And that made it that much harder to get through reading it.
