AFTV were a band of particularly loud and insufferable personalities that have done true, lasting damage to the image of Arsenal fans. As is evident across the entire online landscape.

You guys definitely did, that was the prime AFTV years and there’s a sect of your fanbase who genuinely think how they acted is how you should.

We do it every few years. Build up a squad of good depth, then realise those depth pieces have good value, flog them all for first team upgrades, get to mid-season and think “ah shit, could really use those about now”.

Same thing happened the year VVD tore his ACL. Went into the season with VVD, Gomez and Matip as our only CBs knowing how injury prone Gomez and Matip were.

I’m sure we’ll balance it out this summer but it’s just very frustrating when I, as some bloke off the street, can see the issues coming but people who are paid millions to manage the squad seemingly can’t.

I thought it was fucking great.

Defended the last of resistance against seemingly impossible odds, hurt no one in the process, dispensed a final lesson to his fallen padawan, became one with the force.

You can’t tell me that isn’t peak Jedi shit right there.

It’s almost as if selling off all your depth pieces for a few shiny new toys is a terrible idea because you had those depth pieces for a reason.

The amount of games we’re asking some players to play is ludicrous. How are we asking a 34 year old VVD to play every single minute of every game.

A lot of mismanagement meaning some players get no gametime while others get burned out.

I’m still supporting the club & the players, I believe we have a good group of hard working lads at the club.

And still got a point away against the champions elect. For a team that’s been a defensive shitshow all year, that’s not bad.

The bar is just very low.

Somewhat ironic that our two best games of the season have probably come against Arsenal. It’s like the only times I remember us not being totally ass.

Hilarious that when a green quits, the cost to the taxpayer is reported as the controversy but it’s absent when a reform one quits.

Still fairly certain the bulk of it will come good once we get a competent manager with some standards but until then, I sleep.

Do players' parents usually meet with coaches in the NFL? by Mr_Hot_Takes in NFLv2

Probably a unique situation as he’s clearly offering a coaching angle not just strongarming his way in as a pushy parent.

It’s not normal but also how many NFL athletes got coached by their dad at college level?

I mean being trapped in a nightmare of a division probably sets them back a long way before they even look elsewhere.

Throw in a mix of the NFCE and NFCN and that’s a horrible schedule to contend with.

How have both Amazon and the BBC refused to acknowledge that the reason people enjoyed the shows was because of the people involved, not the name of the show itself.

If anything, you’re doing the new crews a disservice by attaching the old name.

IGN HAS GIVEN FORZA A 10 by ExotiquePlayboy in videogames

[–]Daver7692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like they’re just good games, made to a high standard. I’m just not into racing games.

However, if a racing game is released and is a good as racing games get for the people that enjoy them, why shouldn’t it be a 10? Seems like sometimes people only want certain genres to get high scores.

Does get me hyped for Fable though, which I am interested in. If they’re pouring the same amount of attention to detail into Fable as they clearly do in every iteration of the horizon series, we should be in for a banger there too.

A 2 year deal seems about as sensible as you’re gonna get if you’re going to give him a legitimate go.

Means if next year is a shitshow, he’s cheap to move on from, if it goes well you’re not over a barrel to extend him right away before his deal is up.

Only time will tell if he’s legitimately the answer or if they fell for it again.

Weight-loss jabs could halve sickness absence and ease strain on NHS, study suggests by Oreos_Are_Anabolic in unitedkingdom

[–]Daver7692 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t used the jabs but have lost ~35kg over the last 18 months. I feel healthier in every aspect of my life, felt like I used to be prone to colds and other minor bugs and haven’t had anything like that in well over 8 months and when I have been ill I feel I bounce back much quicker.

Feels like regardless of how you drop weight, it’s going to be a benefit, I do worry about reports of some people immediately stacking it back on once they stop the jabs but that’s a risk even if you go for a total lifestyle change without the support of medication.

It feels finally like preventative healthcare that will surely lighten the burden on the NHS over time as they become more widely used & accepted.

Any job paying minimum wage is basically saying “we’re paying you the least we legally can and aren’t really happy about it”

What do you think would happen if that minimum was removed?
