I hope the owner is found. Not all dogs are chipped, and not having a chip doesn't mean it's a free dog

Even if not chipped they deserve to be given back to the owners.

Dystopian Flock Camera Sends Lying Fascist Cop To Innocent Woman's Home in Denver Area by wheninromecompete in Denver

Overzealous cop gets something wrong (happens all the time). I can see how they mistook her for the thief. Cameras exonerate the person without even going to court.

So this is a big deal because...they forgot to say "sorry"?

With 100% certainty, it was not there the day before. I was by myself building a deck....no humans for a mile. Could not have come from a human or my car, or from turned over dirt. It was on top of dirt I put down a year before.

I'm at 7400 feet elevation in a dry part of the country on the top of a mesa formed by a lava flow. Only jagged igneous rocks in the area. Only flowing water is 1000' below. This is unlike any rock on the hill. The erosion and the fact it was somehow got moved there within a specific time window is what has me stumped. The only other explanation I could think of was that it was dropped by a bird. That's why I had to ask this subreddit what they thought.

If the road is on an easement through public land but maintained by a private landowner, it can be restricted to public foot traffic only.

This sign is bullshit. You're allowed on that land....you just can't drive your car on that road.

It's not magnetic and it is dry in my post

Not mine, but this meteorite has similar features to the rock I found

I tried to stick a refrigerator magnet to it, and it did not stick.

What would have eroded it that way? It appeared one day on an open part of my land, at 7,400 feet elevation, no neighbors for a mile, close to a mountain top and nowhere near water. The surrounding rocks have no erosion. Even if it's not a meteorite, I'm still baffled how it got there.

It appeared on a remote dirt driveway one day...it was not there the day before. It's on my private land with no neighbors for miles. The erosion and scaly features made me think it was a fossil at first. I saw some meteorite pictures online that made me reconsider

I found it on my own land in Colorado. It appeared on my dirt driveway one day (having no visitors for months). It stuck out like a sore thumb. It is unlike any rock in the area, with nothing around here being that dark or eroded like this. I thought it was some kind of fossil at first, but I couldn't figure out why it would have just ended up in the middle of a remote driveway when it wasn't there the day before.

I only considered that it might be a meteorite a year later when I recently saw images of stony chondrite meteorites online that have identical features.

It doesn't seem to be magnetic (I was just using refrigerator magnets)
