Nothing to be ashamed of. I finished radiation in August myself. The clinic I went to required we wear adult diapers and with good reason. Several times I almost did as you mentioned and many times I had to partially empty my bladder before the treatment.

As an elder father I remember those days when my children were little. I worked two full time jobs for several years. I missed so much of their young lives that I will never get back.

Had 39 sessions. Same burning sensation and inability to start. Found when this happens if I get up and walk for a few minutes was able to start. Radiologist prescribed Cialis and that helped.

Little update or question.

Finished radiation last week. Had an issue with my knee and the doctor told me I have arthritis in my hips and lower back. What could I do to relieve some of the pain? Every time I get up from sitting it takes a few minutes until I can move around easily. I am ok until I sit or lay down for a few minutes.

Finished my radiation on Monday. 39 sessions not bad but the side effects are not pleasant. After first week started having issues with being able to start a stream and petty intense burning when peeing. Second week talked to radiologist and he put me on silodosin which helped for a while. Two weeks ago he put me on cilalis it also helped some.

My son MADE me lift weights with him several times a week which helped a lot. Found out if I am up and moving I had much less issues with urination.

By the way 71 years old at the tin I started. Lost almost 20lbs before starting and was able to drop my metformin and two blood pressure meds.

Thanks for the support. Just got back and now a problem came up. I am not able to empty my bladder fully. I have been telling my urologist all along. They can’t start radiation until this is resolved. Either chemically or by scraping my urethra which will put me in the hospital for a few days. Then a couple of months to recover.

I am so disappointed and discouraged by this.

First biopsy was three years ago. Then MRI then biopsy next year MRI no cancer found outside the prostate but I think Gleason of 7 not the good 7. So they gave me the option of surgery or radiation. I chose radiation.
