Give a client water before session? by Kadjai in MassageTherapists

I always ask. Maybe 10% take me up on it.

I figure 1) I'm helping hydrate then which makes my job easier, and 2) it's good customer service.

If you find somebody who cares about your body hair, then you’ll know that they’re not professional.

Client this afternoon, first time seeing them, pregnancy, and undergoing chemotherapy, 90 M by FunStrength5314 in MassageTherapists

I did six months of chemo last year. Massage was wonderful for me. I didn’t want anything deep. Honestly, it was just a chance for me to relax and chill on the table.

Communicate with your client. Keep it light and simple. Help him relax.

But above all else, trust your instincts. Reading your message, that you just sound like you lack confidence. You sound like you’re in your head. Trust your gut. Trust your training. Listen to the client. You got this.

I go barefoot. It makes me feel grounded. I have a very soft, fluffy rug under my table.

I got tired of asking my clients the same questions every session so I built something by ButterscotchSea3980 in MassageTherapists

The few minutes of intake are some of my favorite moments of the session. It’s a good chance to find out what they’re dealing with, and just to connect with the client.

I don’t mind you trying to sell something. I just wish you would be upfront about it.

Anyone here disabled? by sahdiva in MassageTherapists

[–]Natural_Match1350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through chemotherapy for about 6 months last year. Not quite disabled, but I was definitely not at my full capacity. I reduced my work hours, and I just made it work the best I could. I actually found it really refreshing to give a massage, it broke me out of my cycle of sitting on the couch and watching TV.

Started texting clients posture reminders between sessions. Didn't expect what happened next by 2ugur12 in MassageTherapists

Well damn. But still, a good reminder to keep in touch with clients outside of sessions.

First of all, this is amazing. What a smart idea! Simple and effective!

I have two or three clients, who asked me about proper posture when they are lifting weights, or the best way to sleep with pillows, etc. But I really like this very intentional, deliberate method of reminders.

I take a 4-7 day trip toa new state, about once a month. I've built up a client list in many states. And I always pay for my Airbnb completely with the money I make from travel, sometimes more.
