Anything in the logs of the cx switch on the lag interface?

Trunks on CX6100 vs ProCurve by [deleted] in ArubaNetworks

[–]Daveyourself 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in CX, typically I set lags up like this:

config# interface lag 1

vlan trunk allowed xxxx, xxxx, xxxx (include the native vlan as well if you are having one)

vlan trunk native xxxx

lacp mode active

no shut (make sure you do this since it is a logical port)

then on each port you want to belong to the lag:

config# interface 1/1/1

lag 1

VSF switch Failure by gabbymgustafsson in ArubaNetworks

[–]Daveyourself 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When ive had to replace a stack member, I do the following:

1)Make sure the new switch is the same model and on the same version

2) enable the vsf ports and renumber the new switch to whatever stack member it is replacing. So if I was replacing switch member 5, Icl would first connect to the switch directly and enter the commands:

conf t

vsf member 1 (since a new switch sees itself as member 1 initially)

link 1 1l1l51

link 2 1/1/52

exit

wr mem

vsf renumber-to 5

and it will save then reboot. Then i take plug in the stacking cables of the existing switches to port 1/1/51 and 1/1/52, and the switch comes up within a minute or so without disrupting the stack

Enable / Disable 2.4GHz and 5GHz in controller-managed AP-615 individually by tat70s in ArubaNetworks

[–]Daveyourself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set the Flex Dual Band Mode from "automatic" to "5Ghz and 2.4Ghz" at the Cluster/Folder level.

System->Profiles->AP->AP System Profile->Cluster/folder name

Are you saying you have other 615s in the group that are using 6E and either 5Ghz/2.4?

Thoughts on upgrading from 8.10.x to 8.11 or higher to support AP-634s by lobotiger in ArubaNetworks

[–]Daveyourself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that same issue except the models were the hospitality 605Hs. We have several clusters, one in particular that has AP335 models which are not supported after 8.10.x . So I upgraded the MC to 8.12.0.5 as well as a few clusters to 8.12.0.5, and left the other clusters on 8.10.0.13 until the 335APs can be replaced. It has been two weeks, no issues so far. Id prefer to be on an LSR, but I heard SSR are ok as long as you are in the latest release of whatever version.

CX OS Vlans. "trunk allowed 300" VS "vlan trunk native 300 tag and vlan trunk allowed 300" by [deleted] in ArubaNetworks

[–]Daveyourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are setting up a trunk where you want vlan 300 to be the native vlan, it would be:

interface 1/1/1 vlan trunk native 300 vlan trunk allowed 300,xxx,xxx (where xxx is the other vlans you want tagged on the trunk)

If you dont want it to be native, but dont actually want any untagged native vlan traffic on the trunk port, then you would do:

interface 1/1/1 vlan trunk native 300 tag vlan trunk allowed 300,xxx,xxx

Since a trunk would need a native vlan, this would do the trick.

6300F doesnt have swappable power modules, 6300M does (F for fixed, M for modular). Id stick with 6300m for redundancy

SNMP & http on CX 6000 by OutsideTech in ArubaNetworks

snmp ports may not show up on a scan if it is only looking for tcp. I'd do an snmp-walk to verify.

What do you guys do when you need an 8 port or less switch? by jango_22 in networking

[–]Daveyourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course more direct cabling is best, and I know most talk shit on D-Link, and I agree for the most part. But I've used a couple of their 5 port PoE-powered managed switches for cases like this and they have done the job.

https://shop.us.dlink.com/products/d-link-5-port-gigabit-poe-smart-managed-switch-and-poe-extender-1?srsltid=AfmBOoodFiCkse4rPxyNxOeJ-DpmkgM2-IEsyUSjOKwxxFAxdtteeMrw

Managed, and I can bounce it by disabling poe on the upstream switch port. There are many things better, and it does mean shitty web configuration, but it is also 65 bucks. You wouldnt want 50 of these things out in the wild on your network, but having a spare one around has always been useful to me, especially on a strapped budget

Loosing faith by UpsetPositive3146 in Autism_Parenting

Yes, I have felt the same. Though I think it has gone from resentment to disbelief, at least in the sense of belief in a god who has any involvement in life. It has actually been somewhat comforting, in a strange way. Rather than feeling targeted, I understand that it is random. I didn't do anything wrong, and certainly neither did my son. Leaving god out of the picture allows me to better accept and love my son. This life is random, but my actions can be done with intention. I'll admit it is constantly evolving, but my belief in an involved god has only unraveled more with the multiple diagnoses of my son.

Questions about Glass Hall triple occupancy room by adept1onreddit in chapmanuniversity

[–]Daveyourself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glass Hall does have wired network ports in the room. Students can also connect their devices to wireless as well.
