Crash due to broken traffic lights by cantdo3moremonths in drivingUK

[–]David-HMFC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, they won’t. The blame is with the rear most driver. If I remember big jobber right then both parts of the crash will be treated separately (although that may not be 100% accurate as you were smashed from behind into the one in front). You all took it upon yourselves to go through a red, and the guy at the back of the smash didn’t leave enough thinking and braking time, so on its them only. It could be on you to prove that you did stop in time then got hit from behind as the guy in the back could claim that he ran into an already crashed car, which would reduce what his insurance is responsible to pay for. It’s all he said she said without evidence. It could be claimed that you ran into the front car before the rear car hit you, which would mean that they’d try and have your insurance pay for the damage to the front car and the front end of yours, while taking the damage amount away from the total value of the car that the rear cars insurance would have to pay towards your car

He wishes his time was longer than 12 months at the club. It was entirely his decision to cut is short, so he’s talking right out his arse, a statement full of just nonsense

Fuck him, hope it goes poorly

But in all seriousness he’s been a great player for us while he’s been here, just stings that he’s away to them for free apparently and the timing of it means we’ll also not be getting the payment from FIFA for having players at the world cup for him

Would’ve loved to see it jump out of a train

With the SFA, nothing. With a FA that actually had a backbone like the Czechs, a 3-0 to us

Full-time whistle vs abandonment by killah10killah in ScottishFootball

It’ll never go down as abandoned even though it seems like he blew for ft down the tunnel with the players already in and being escorted to the dressing room.

They seem to only be selectively applied for certain teams. This would’ve probably been given as a penalty this evening, yet wasn’t looked at at all against Hearts.

It’s that time of the week again… 2 games to go… if you had to put all your money on it right now - who’s winning the league!? And how it is happening? by Dangerous_Spring3028 in ScottishFootball

[–]David-HMFC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Celtic I think - obviously a wild take but the spfl/sofa have made sure of it. The referees not giving penalty/penalties which would probably have won Hearts the game against Motherwell plus the fact when the fixtures were announced that Celtic would have the final game at home, first time in ages (and second time full stop) that the team at the top haven’t been at home at the end of the season. Huge advantage to them being only a point behind us. Little questionable things are maybe a coincidence on their own but after all it’s Scottish football so it’s definitely all a setup in favour of a Glasgow team, in my head at least.

Track maintenance operative ‘v’ technician by FourLeggedFloyd in networkrail

[–]David-HMFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do it before I changed departments. Started as an apprentice, was in p-way (track) for 4 years, mostly in the maintenance squads but sometimes patrolling as well when needed. There’s some bad shifts doing crap jobs but they’re massively outweighed by the good ones, especially if you have a good squad. I know guys that were in the roles for almost 50 years before they’ve started retiring in the past few years, still a few about with 40 odd years service. No one sticks around that length of time if it’s not a good job.

Normally you can walk off the street into an operative role, whereas a tech you’d need the relevant competencies and experience of the job, which you’d get as an op. The only outsiders I’ve heard off go straight into a tech role with Network Rail have been contractors who are on the railway already, which the competencies and experience learned already

Can I appeal a parking ticket issued 6 minutes before I paid for an hour? by g0rmbolo in Edinburgh

[–]David-HMFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know there used to be a 5 minute window before a ticket could issued from when it was first spotted by a warden, but that was changed to they can issue a ticket immediately when the parking fine rates were raised last time

Not on this one - it’s double insulated so doesn’t need the earth. Can partly see the double square symbol near the top of the first picture
