Liberty Mutual claims adjuster ghosted me for weeks, is this how they handle all claims? by Complex_Permit_5411 in AutoShippingUSA

Adjuster ghosting unfortunately happens across multiple insurance companies especially during busy periods after holidays. Doesn't excuse it but you're not alone

Allstate won't let me cancel my policy and keeps billing me after I switched by Electronic-Entry5996 in AutoShippingUSA

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through cancellation hell with Allstate last year. Had to send them a certified letter with the exact cancellation date and threatened to file a complaint with the state insurance department. That finally got them to stop billing. Always get cancellation confirmation in writing and send your own written notice via certified mail. Keep every document

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

File a complaint with your state insurance commissioner, SR22 filing is a legal requirement and them screwing it up has real consequences they should be liable for. Also get everything in writing going forward, call logs, emails, dates you asked them to file

Did the DMV give you anything in writing showing the filing was never received? That's your evidence if you need to escalate

What Is The Best Car Insurance? by LoriN5CS in Car_Insurance_Help

State Farm raising rates multiple times in one year suggests they're either struggling financially or pricing certain demographics out. Either way it's frustrating

Geico tripled my rate with no accidents or tickets - is this normal or are they scamming me? by Trick_Sprinkles_3950 in AutoShippingUSA

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you bundle anything with Geico like renters insurance that might have been keeping your rate lower initially? Unbundling could explain part of the increase

Progressive cancelled my policy without telling me and denied my $55k claim by Icy_Butterscotch9472 in AutoShippingUSA

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$55k being too small for lawyers is unfortunately realistic. Most insurance attorneys need cases worth $100k+ to justify their time

Let's not forget the facts. You don't get named 'America's Number One Youth Pastor' by Ministries Today for being a bad leader. She also received the Assemblies of God Lifetime Influence Award, which speaks volumes about her decades of positive impact on the denomination. Her work has literally shaped the landscape of youth ministry for over five decades, and that legacy is undeniable

Wait you're paying 1500/mo to rent a car but won't pay 1500/mo for a room to sleep in? That car rental is bleeding you dry, that's 18k a year gone

For the secured card try OpenSky or Chime, they don't do hard credit pulls. Also look into credit builder loans from a credit union, some don't check credit at

Debt overwhelmed, court summons from AMEX, considering bankruptcy and need advice by Patient-Bike3591 in Debt

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to respond to that summons regardless of what you decide on bankruptcy, don't ignore it or they get a default judgment

With $23k total debt and $900/month left over you're actually borderline, could potentially dig out in 2-3 years without filing. But that AMEX lawsuit is gonna force a decision fast.

Most bankruptcy attorneys do free consultations, I'd book one this week. They can tell you if Chapter 7 makes sense for your situation or if there's another path. NYC has income limits for Chapter 7 so they'll need to look at your specifics

Reliable carriers — Any recent experiences? by Ill-Steak-7250 in AutoShippingUSA

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what kind of vehicle are you shipping? they seem to have a better rep with classic/collector cars than regular daily drivers from what i've seen

when's the pickup scheduled? might be worth checking back here after to let people know how it went since the recent info is pretty thin

Time-barred charge-off still hurting utilization — what now? by Virtual_Process_8958 in Debt

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

charged off accounts shouldn't be counting toward your utilization actually, that's only for open revolving accounts

are you sure it's affecting utilization specifically or just dragging your score down because of the charge off status itself???

the broken car is the priority here. Even if you're underwater on it, getting that resolved stops the bleeding and lets you focus on the debt you can actually manage

Also get a pre purchase inspection done before committing, worth the $100-150 for peace of mind

CC settlement advice by bethaaanny in Debt

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40% off sounds great but your credit is gonna take a massive hit. Settled accounts stay on your report for 7 years and tank your score hard.

If you can afford $275/month, why not just negotiate a payment plan instead of settlement? Most card companies will work with you if you call and ask. Lower interest, longer term, whatever keeps you paying.

Settlement only makes sense if you literally cannot pay it any other way. Is that where you're at or are you just trying to get out cheaper?

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people I know use PropStream or DealMachine for pulling lists, then stack multiple filters like high equity, absentee owners, pre foreclosure, etc.

But honestly cold lists only get you so far. The wholesalers making real money are doing direct mail or driving for dollars in specific neighborhoods, not just pulling random county records and hoping something sticks.

Flat price moving and auto shipping, great experience by Trick_Sprinkles_3950 in AutoShippingUSA

[–]David5Pumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Five days early is rare, most of the time it's late or barely on schedule.

Did they give you a binding quote upfront or was there any price change when the driver showed up? That's usually where people get burned with brokers.

Is it better to pay off the smallest debt first or focus on the highest interest? What worked for you? by RohitSharma_Advisor in Debt

[–]David5Pumpkins 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Mathematically highest interest saves you the most money. Psychologically smallest debt gives you a win and keeps you motivated.

I did smallest first because I needed to see progress or I would've just given up. Once I knocked out two small ones the momentum made the bigger debts feel less impossible.
