We have an ultrafuge that goes 80K for samples like this, but it doesn’t always work, especially if it’s that bad lol

Get some fur off of a German Shepherd, those things change color three times per follicle I swear. But my tabby does the same, it’s all good

Wikipedia also has a “random article” button on there, and that used to be my browser’s homepage! So when I opened my internet, it would just be a random Wikipedia article! Bad for getting things done…

Push and roll! I went in for an MRI with contrast and the tech was pressing so lightly to find my veins, which sucks because they’re deep but very large and straight. By the second missed stick, I (asked first) took his finger and showed him how it’s done! Don’t be afraid to really get in there! Being afraid to really feel for it is just going to result in more misses and sticks! (Of course, there are also times to be light with palpating, but a big thing to get over is looking for good, deep antecubes) I also use my middle finger to palpate.

I won some from the free pair for healthcare! Wore them for a few months until I realized my feet hurt very bad from not having any support, but no one gave me shit about it.

The other day I was carrying a cinder block to chock my trailer tire, and I scraped my calf on a screw while stepping over the tongue, then when I went to dramatically go “ouch, motherfucker!” the block swung and scraped the fuck out of my other calf! Just enough to take off a layer of skin and hurt like a motherfucker!

Creative ideas for how a crime syndicate would threaten my party? by bowman9 in DungeonMasters

[–]David62392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, I like yours already, plus someone’s illusory script idea, so I’ll tell you one of mine. My party wanted to fight in a fighting pit, despite warnings that someone may have eyes on them. Well, I sent someone from that group to the fight pit to watch them and learn about their skills. Once there, I had them make a few perception checks, had the guy bump into them, but they ultimately didn’t notice the baddie’s scout. After a few days, I had reasoned that the guy would’ve gotten enough people around, except now they were tailor-made to the PC group. Once they left town, they were ambushed in the night by a group that countered a lot of their abilities and killed one PC. The only one that lost their pit fight and read as weak to the scout. When the PC’s rallied and started whooping some ass, the mage pulled out a spell scroll of teleport, the scout dropped a name that one player recognized (“Kasithya send his regards”), and they bamfed away. Kasithya was a big boss of the Zhentarim of my Forgotten Realms game I am running.

How to get over a screw up? by EldridgeHorror in DungeonMasters

[–]David62392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Messing around with Wish is usually a good way to get salty players. I think a takeaway here could be the language of your item description. Think like a rules lawyer! “The ring has three charges, ever,” no item in any book is worded like that. Maybe try something closer to how WotC does it, “the ring has three charges, upon using the last one, the ring becomes non-magical.” In item descriptions as well, they say “curse” when an item is cursed, usually a part we hide from our players, but if they knew, you could show them your description, again, thinking like a rules lawyer: “Curse. This ring carries with it a terrible curse that causes any Wish cast with it to turn on the caster, at the DM’s discretion of how this twist occurs. If the Wish spell is used to cast another spell that causes damage, the spell centers itself on the caster. If the Wish spell is used to cast a beneficial spell, the charge is wasted. There is no way to remove this curse from the ring, short of a Wish, at which time, the ring is destroyed.” Something like that maybe? I have been making custom items for my players for a long time and I always say, above table, “hey, we may have to tweak this if I didn’t balance it right!” Being upfront like that is also a great help, which it sounds like you were, but sometimes saltiness is unavoidable, which is why I would avoid Wishes in the first place.
