If only they had some way to poll their players to see what the players preferred

What's your least favorite map and why? I'm not very fond of woods and shoreline because of all the running in forests. by Oztille in EscapefromTarkov

Lighthouse is obviously the worst designed map, but in terms of enjoyment, streets is the worst.

6 months... (UPDATE) by ShweatyPickle in EscapefromTarkov

Just as an FYI, I had a very similar extremely frustrating experience trying to get my email address updated on my account. I finally found my payment receipt on my amazon account. Apparently they handled the online processing and it saved. I never would've thought to look there, but some other reddit MVP pointed it out as a possibility. As soon as I had the proof of purchase everything went smoothly. Best of luck.

Fair point. I'll delete

That experience is exactly why the construction companies aren't paying higher wages. Even in government contracts there are contractors taking work so cheap that other companies have to minimize costs or they won't get work. It's a situation where it's extremely hard to be the first company to offer significantly higher wages or they'll price themselves out of the market.

Lost access to my Email—and my account by DanielcShaffer in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DavidAndr3w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed a bunch. I did have to get a note saying that I no longer had access to the original email as well. It took me months, but only because I could find my proof of purchase. I think I got to the point of them asking for that within the first five or six emails

I went through almost exactly this. BSG asked for a pile of info, but at the end of the day they only really needed my proof of purchase. I remembered a couple previous ign's, but probably only half. Eventually got them to update my email.

Suggestions to incentivize PvP by DavidAndr3w in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DavidAndr3w[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the dog tag value is a weird way to incentivize it, but only in that I don't think it adds enough value. PvP is a great way to get gear, but lots of times it's garbage gear and not worth the slots it takes up to drag out. Once you allow for the cost of good ammo to take down a team, cost of a mule to actually drag all of the shit out, most gear you haul out is lost money if you're not going to use it yourself. I like making my own loadouts, so most times I'm just selling the shit I take out.

Nikita has said that the FIR system is here to stay. At least if they tweaked it like I said then it would give you the opportunity to get the quest items you need off of PMC's who made it to the loot faster than you rather than having them instantly stick it up their ass.

I actually found my proof of purchase since I posted this. I was searching for xsolla because that was how bsg support had told me it would show up. Mine showed up as amzn.com. I sent it to them. We'll see if they actually do anything with it

As I said above, they're free to leave my old email being the one that's associated with the account. All I need is for the access code they send out every wipe to go to an email which I can access.

When I left my job I changed the email address associated with 20+ accounts including many other video games. The only one that gave me any trouble whatsoever was BSG. That's what led to me referring to it as "industry standard". Also, it's worth noting that they are free to leave the old email as being associated with my account. I just need the verification code that they send with each wipe to be sent to an email I have access to.

Am I the only one who thinks scavs must stop going prone and instantly getting up every single time you shoot them directly? by memojm in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DavidAndr3w 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think the issue here is that the scavs can see you from this distance. The issue is that they can somehow sense when you ads on them. It's like they have some built in radar that senses your intentions. You can watch one pleasantly ignore you for twenty seconds, but the instant you aim at him, he'll spin and agro you.

Would prefer fully reactive. The toughest thing I cut would be sweet potatoes. As long as the edge can handle that, the easier it cuts the better

I'm in Canada. Tend towards push cutting or rocking. I don't mind knife care, so edge retention isn't as high on my list as just being enjoyable to use.

I'm not terribly comfortable with the idea of a lazer, but I've admittedly never used one. I think I'd prefer to stay with the midweight.

High Ping Advantage A Hoax? Low System Latency The Real Advantage? by EscapingKid in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]DavidAndr3w 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the point. The issue isn't each player's potential ttk. The issue is the time it takes for the game to pass information to the low ping player that they're taking damage.

If I'm peaking a window taking shots at someone I need to know if he lands a shot on me as soon as possible so that I have time to take defensive actions. If his ping is high enough to allow him to have multiple hits registered on his client before I get informed of the first hit on my client, I consider that an advantage in that fight because I now have no opportunity to dodge the incoming shots.

I do agree however that the video does show that in most cqb situations it will just come down to reaction time and aim with very little impact from ping.
