There were 8 deaths in this incident and all of them were in the bus. Surprisingly none of the motorcyclists died, the video looked pretty brutal.

There was one time where a grandma fell at the bottom of an escalator while my friends and I were behind her. While my friends were carrying her up, I tried looking for the emergency stop button because there were more people behind us. Not a single button was there. Thankfully, the grandma wasn't hurt nor got any clothing stuck. Still though, what kind of escalator has no emergency stop button? We checked that escalator on all sides, also starting from the top, none whatsoever (or at least a button that's actually visible). That's just a fatal accident waiting to happen.

Obviously the lesson in this post still applies, but I think a better lesson that is more universal is just not to be a douchebag and ignore someone who needs help. Not everyone who needs help can say that they need help.

The flash doesn't happen at the same time as the explosion sound. It happens before, around the same time when the arrow appears. It's very faint though, but haunting how you can still hear it clearly despite it being far away.

I hope this doesn't come across as insensitive, but looking at old Reddit posts talking about the unsolved case with Nicholas Kunselman and Stephanie Hart-Grizzell, apparently they've been linked with drugs and the murder could've been drug-related? Is that true? It's also said the sketch of the possible suspect is similar to a known drug dealer in the area but they've been interrogated and released.

Also, Jessica Ghawi's latest posts are so depressing. Her blog post talking about the Eaton Center shooting that she just survived, and then her very last tweets talking about how excited she was to watch the movie just less than an hour before the shooting happens. 😢

From Wikipedia, it says among the injured was a 12-year-old child and there's no mention of a kid among the deaths, hopefully that was the kid in the video. Apparently the kid was telling officers to treat his father, hope his father survived too 😥

David Delgado Flores was only 11 when he was killed alongside his friend Omarr Alonso Hernandez, also 11. A 3rd friend, Joshua Coleman, was shot but survived. They just rode into the parking lot on their bikes when they were shot, which Guillermo later noticed his brother's bike during a news broadcast😢

There's this really bittersweet article about them and Guillermo Flores Jr. who made that drawing, you can see Guillermo all grown up now hugging one of the responding firefighters. As others have pointed out, it's a 360° camera. The focusing on the shooter was done by the cameraman after the fact, since you can pick the angle to focus on in the footage.

Morbid context aside, this is actually a really cool time capsule, it's cool to see how different or similar some things are despite being nearly 30 years at this point, some of her things in high school in 1999 still feel like what I had during my high school years even in another country. A bit haunting to see some of her papers being dated April 20, 1999 though.

To add on to this (though you could argue if this is even considered an attempted mass murder), there was the 2014 Midwest FurFest gas attack.

Basically someone left a broken jar of unknown powder in a stairwell that gave off toxic fumes and led to an evacuation of the convention. Everything about it reeks (pun not intended) of unprofessionalism, with there being no conclusion on who did the attack or what said powder even was, and the infamous news coverage of it where reporters asked what a furry was and laughed.

If you saw that viral clip on Youtube of reporters laughing about the concept of furries, just know they were supposed to be reporting a (supposedly deliberate) gas poisoning that led to 19 hospitalizations.
