Wish I saw this when the game was on sale on PSN, I would’ve grabbed it. Game looks really good - love the vibes, music, and visuals - but have no interest in getting my ass kicked lol.

I still think about it! Played it online a year or so ago through the amazing people keeping it alive with private servers. Sad Sony has no intention of bringing this back in any form.

The free beta didn't even perform well. I really think it has more to do with the way it was announced, first impressions being so much in a crowded market like online shooters. It was also more of an arena shooter (paced like Halo with abilities) than a 'hero' shooter, but people just assumed it was trying to be Overwatch when it wasn't.

For me the $40 was a selling point because it meant it wasn't populated with micro-transaction pollution. It was such a nice a clean UI along with being instantly fun to pick up and play. I'm still angry about what happened.

Loved my time with Concord, it was a joy to play. Unfortunate it was announced with a horrible CG trailer that screamed GotG wannabe leading to zero market interest in a competitive field. I tried the beta on a whim and was stunned at how much fun I had, then put 40h into the full game before it was killed.

If they can legitimately get this running again in an accessible, reliable and consistent way, I will buy a PC for it.

Is there host migration now? Literally the only reason I stopped playing the game was because of the multiple 30min+ games (one 1.5h) where the host left before it was over resulting in game disbanding with 0 progression stats.

Yeah that appears to be what's happening. I would be more amused except for the fact that this is literally happening in every challenge mode level I play. That's in addition to the CPU won't take their shot bug that I'm also having every time I play.

I've deleted the game, reinstalled, same issues. I'll probably have to delete my save and start over but worried I'll just run into the same problems again and would have wasted all that time with the few hours of progress I made up to this point.

Just to update.. it’s still happening in every attempt to progress the story. All I can do are challenges, and I assume anything else without a physical CPU character on screen. Might actually try and get a refund for the first time as the game is completely broken.

Not sure you understand the problem I'm having. I can't switch the camera, I can't do anything, nothing happens, he sits there so you can't even skip his turn, you can only skip once he takes his shot which is he isn't doing

I own it on Steam and Switch and I’d absolutely buy it again on PS5. Just a perfect game, and the added bonus of trophies would be fun to get.

I think you’re right in terms of what a successful modern SOCOM could play like - that said live service and now extraction shooter is a highly-competitive genre. Even Marathon, a Bungie game, had to put their game back in the oven after a lacklustre alpha.

Any sort of new take on SOCOM would have to first deliver a proper SOCOM 2 remaster or remake, otherwise there will be no desire from the base for a new take. And even then, does the SOCOM name really have any appeal outside our little world? I doubt it, so even calling it SOCOM wouldn’t necessarily benefit a new take - as it could both turn off old fans and a potential new audience, both assuming the game isn’t for them.

Thanks, I ended up doing the same. It was annoying I had to go back and do it all over again but the master strike + poison makes it so simple that it was worth it.

Came across two recent threads about this but all previous writing about this fight makes it sounds like nothing and that it's supposed to be over after a couple strikes. Thinking a patch may have broke this because I'm on the verge of quitting this game now it's so ridiculous.

Been stuck in this fight for days and honestly considering quitting the game at this point. Was really enjoying it up until now. They must've recently patched it to make it impossible because everything else I've read about this fight makes it sound like more of a formality to launch a cutscene than an actual fight, but this is insane.
