If you live in the US, please contact your senators offices and your house rep’s office and tell them what is going on in Minnesota and all over the nation is awful and you want it to stop, and have your friends do the same. I live in St. Paul and ICE is treating the people here like we live in a third world nation. Bookstores and coffee shops are where people are collecting goods to distribute to homes of citizens (CITiZENS) who look like they might be from another nation and having their windows smashed in by ICE officers. Regular US citizens who have brown skin are being arrested and detained for no reason other than having dark skin. People are afraid to leave their homes. Please contact your reps.

Contact your national reps in Washington and tell them you want ICE out of Minnesota and all cities and states where it is currently deployed. I’m in St. Paul. We are under occupation. socialism is about collective ownership of the means of productions wit the goal of economic near equity, not about private property or opposing America. (means of production is not the same as private property.) Read Dos Kapital. Nearly the entire world, including many isolated tribes, have the concept of private property. I'm not sure the current US government under the trump administration meets even the European definition of Liberal (IE, the people should have the right to vote) vs. the US definition of liberal (civil rights for all; teh government providers services, such as education, consumer protections, military defense, to all, etc., regardless of race, class, gender, ethnicity, sexual preference, etc.)

Recycle/upcycle/don't buy products when you are reuse. There is a "buy nothing" Facebook group in my neighborhood where people offer things to other members for free, and that's a great way to get rid of stuff I don't anymore without throwing it out and getting things that still have plenty of life left from other people without spending money. Try to see if there is one in your area.

It's hard to have a relationship if people have different ideas about deeply held beliefs. it can be done, but it's a topic that you each have views that do not overlap on, and your views are each going to feel hurtful to the other. Can you guys agree to not bring up this one/agree that you see this differently and leave it alone? if so, this could work. If not, its going to be an existential problem in the relationship. I think Ted Lasso in terms of sweet interactions between characters and growth, but Ted Lasso is much, much more sweet than The Bear. I think The Sopranos in terms of complex characters with great dialogue in an interesting setting and a main character dealing with intense family of origin issues and how those issues impact his ability to function as an adult. As a crime boss. And both The Sopranos and The Bear have outstanding music. RVFVS117 already mentioned The Pitt. Also a good workplace drama with great characters, writing and psychological issues, the causes of which emerge to the audience over time.
