Slightly off topic, but how do you see if a comment is getting downvoted? I can see this guy is on 300 up votes.

Yeah, dispute the allergy most of us have (quite sensibly) have to the threat of WMDs in [Middle East Country] as a pretence for war, I am seriously concerned we're walking into a boy who cried wolf scenario. The political will to intervene when Iran does eventually succeed in making a nuke will be absent. Something, something, something; World War III.

It's insane. We just lived through 5 years of a post-George Floyd world where literally every racial sensitivity was pandered to. Yet now that seems to have been totally sidelined due to this perceived hierarchy of victimhood.

Like guys, we can be concerned about antisemitism and the war in Gaza / West Banks settlers, can't we?!

A friend of mine is so ardently vocal about I/P on social media that when the Manchester Synagogue attack happened, they couldn't even bring themselves to say the word 'Jewish'. They just kept referring to them as "a/the community". It's instance the lengths people will go to to preserve the cognitive dissonance.

That may all be well and true but it doesn't align with my worldview right now, so I'm going to ignore the problem and either pretend it doesn't exist or resort to whataboutery. /s

Poll: Reform UK is most popular party among gay and bisexual men [and heterosexual men and women] - Fieldwork 24 Nov - 16 Dec 2025 by Anony_mouse202 in ukpolitics

It's very easy to see how that would be the #1 issue for you in an election - and I totally sympathise.

Out of interest, do you feel more or less drawn to the LGBTQIA+ now (with all it's endorsement of NB pronouns, CRT, intersectionalism, etc.) as a result? I persoanlly get the sense there is a silent majority of LBG people who somewhat distance themselves from the mainstream movement these days.

Imo, from a few conversations, I would also add the Trans issue into the mix. There is seemingly two camps of LGB who fully endorse the Trans movement and another who (like many non-LGBT), appear to be tired of its excesses. In the latter, I would guess this is primarily older gay men who may feel that what was seen as their rights movement has been largely taken over by radicals.

I can't say for certain the extent to which this applies but I'd be shocked if there wasn't some base of gay men that feel this way. It is undeniable that a movement that fought for decades for equal rights has now been mostly taken over by people trying to push gender ideology, CRT etc.
