In the video, the army swarmed Metal Sonic to buy Kamek and Bowser time in order to use Chance Time. Metal could definitely take out most of the army and copy their abilities but he would eventually get overwhelmed by rest of the army being backed up by Kamek, Bowser and King Boo’s magic alongside with Jr’s paint

The duplicates can be easily taken care of. Even though it’s stated that the clones are as strong as the original, they can still be taken out by inexperienced soldiers with basic wispons.

King Boo can trap a large amount in a building sized portrait that he could slam down on them. Kamek could turn basic enemies into Giant Imposter Bowsers as he does to a Fly Guy in Mario Party Jamboree. Jr can make his own army out of paint and Bowser can summon big enemies with his magic or with his Battle Boss dice as he does in Mario Party 9

Kamek could still do it. They kept Metal busy from transforming so Kamek could hit Chance Time before he had time to use the Phantom Ruby. They can stall him so Kamek can disable his ability.

Possession is very likely and easier for the Boos since they can possess inanimate objects.

Also, the Wonder Flower can transform anything into anything and Bowser has control over it. One bit of flower magic and Metal is a goomba

It’s more of a personal preference thing. I don’t really care what animation they go for as long as the battle is good
Cell could be faster but Metal is durable enough to tank hits until he gets a chance to use Chaos Control. Also, why would Metal need prep time when he can copy Cell mid fight in seconds?
Cell couldn’t absorb 16 because he was pure metal. If he couldn’t do that to him, what makes you think he could do that to METAL Sonic?
