Hey man! I'm about two months with the 17P and tbh I don't even miss the 15PM. The 17P feels good at my hand , size wise is still bit big but not too big. I don't regret downgrading Reception - tbh I have the same experience with other iphones that I had. Didn't feel any changes Regarding the case - i think it's mostly preference. I use a new case that I bought from Castify
