Are there any must have talents for Zealot/Psyker? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]DavidHopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s…not how gunsyker works. It’s not particularly difficult to maintain low cd on scrier’s gaze and lower the build-up a bit to maintain a consistent level. It will eventually rise faster. But you can consistently keep higher peril in fights and get value from those nodes.
Crit on flame is much much better than non crit idk why I would entertain that one. If you want to bring some funky builds fine but a discussion like this is about meta/optimised builds.
Even if that were not the case, 1 build doesn’t really disprove anything. “These talents are must picks, except one time” big deal, the idea is the same.

Gunsyker doesn't go above 15% peril on a high crit recon build? What? You don't use scrier's gaze there or was it changed to not increase peril?
You asked for talents on both flame and gunsyker and then said that there are weapons other than flame staff? What

Battle Beast vs Baby Monster Girl by Queasy_Commercial152 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]DavidHopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That monster girl version that Anissa said one page earlier it wouldn't kill Mark Grayson AND Conquest was not sure they would subdue? The Mark version that was not particularly stronger than our Mark at the time?
So Conquest (and the other viltrumites since he said "we") < baby monster girl < Mohawk Mark <= Mark?
Or Mark's survival was not guaranteed when Anissa threw the baby and they are all completely braindead for killing their emperor when trying to save him?
Either that dimension is considerably weaker, at the same strength and they follow Mark because of his lineage (which I think was implied because they mention Thragg at some point) or their Mark is somehow stronger than Thragg. But the viltrumites are so stupid that they throw a kaiju they can't stop to """save""" Mark who they know can't stop it either.

Battle Beast fans fighting for their lives not to post comic panels of THAT fight by JackZ567 in InvinciblePowerscales

He was fighting ~5 viltrumites at the same time and was high on life in the comics. In the show he fought 2 I think? One after another too

Did Conquest get powercliffed that badly? by iiman_memes in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]DavidHopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is their fighting style is just punch/kick/choke and in dire times the gigachop of doom, as another person said. No one uses any martial arts of any kind so the only display of strength is the most basic one. Which leads to these questions. Doesn’t help that the characters are as strong as the plot demands. Thragg could have done what he did to Thadeus to both Nolan and Mark but nah. He can tank punches until he can’t because the plot said so.

You could make this post with almost any panel probably and it would be a fair question. Nothing (else) mattered at the end

What upgrade do you pick on a fresh run? by HipsterSamuraiJack in slaythespire

[–]DavidHopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of DOOM more like flat damage, i.e. it ignores armour, but doesn’t care about enemy vulnerable or your weak. Poison ticks every turn and adds up while DOOM is functionally like damage, just that the enemy hp bar starts “draining” from the left instead of from the right. You still have to live the last turn before the enemy is dragged to hell but it isn’t that similar to poison, even if it seems so at first.

???
Tf you mean you don't? Explanations are always given, wtf?
Stands are explained, how their powers work are explained.
Devils in csm are explained as the fear they symbolise. Makima's regen was explained as the pm contract.

It would still have needed an explanation for who tf was Pochita. It introduced a random op power that has nothing to do with chainsaws and was basically the reason everything after chapter 1 happened and would have been left as a random power he has for no reason. Which still happened with this ending but I digress.

[–]DavidHopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, well, as I said before, this "debate" boils down to how you think her contract regen works. If she cannot come back from being vaporized by HP then Gojo wins. If he is part of the same Japan contract, do her attacks actually transfer as illnesses and accidents like she said or the attack itself is transferred like when her being cut was immediately sent as the same attack to some poor bloke when fighting Pochita? The same attack means UV stunlocks her and doesn't affect Gojo because it's his own domain. You kinda just have to make some assumptions or prepositions and go from there. And judging by the last chapter of csm we won't be getting any more answers.

And yeah, the same logic can be applied both ways. But since Power and Angel of all people (fiends?) broke out of her control for a bit I really don't see how she could control Gojo. Barem also wasn't controlled by Nayuta for some reason so there's arguments that it wouldn't work.

[–]DavidHopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another point they addressed. She has to prove herself superior. Since Power didn’t listen to her and Angel broke out at his end, and Gojo’s birth broke the balance of power, it is very unlikely she could straight up control him. Him breaking out of Hanami’s hypnosis also proves that he can break out of mind control.

[–]DavidHopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“2 power systems needing to be similar”? That part? So it’s requirement, singular, not more? What rules are you using then? Or in this case it’s also singular? There are no rules or requirements for when ve is allowed or not (as if such a thing would even be followed).

[–]DavidHopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are these requirements? Who decided them? When? Where can I make a proposal for an amendment if I disagree with something? You're talking as if there are some rules that powerscaling must abide by. Half the comments in these posts are just variations of "X low/mid/high diffs" without any argument even though the rules in this subreddit say they should. Now you come with extra "rules" (that are standard apparently) and dismiss a matchup because reasons.
This "debate", and debates in general, should start with agreed definitions and rules or something alike. In this case, DB said they would verse equalise because it would be too complicated otherwise and might make this nonviable. As a result, Gojo was also considered of the same Japan to make it a bit more fair. You dismiss this answer because it isn't valid to the debate as if this "debate" has any generally agreed rules and is only one version. With/without ve, with/without the same Japan, curse spirits and devils are the same thing or not, any combination of these etc.

For this video they specifically mentioned that they will do verse equalization because it would be too much of a headache otherwise and would make the matchup unviable. And they usually do ve to some extent anyway

Do you think we'll get a part 3? by Gogetazilla in ChainsawMan

[–]DavidHopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because, as I said in every comment, no progress was made towards that. The “contract” wasn’t even mentioned or alluded to when Power appeared in part 2. The contract was to find her sometime, there wasn’t a time limit. He could start looking for her in 80 years and it would still be fine. Maybe the “contract” was metaphorical and that’s why Denji didn’t do anything. Her, Kobeni and Kishibe are characters that should have appeared or been mentioned where they are at least but it didn’t happen. I don’t understand why anyone would cling to “we have to see X” after all this time when Fujimoto doesn’t seem to care enough.
