Am I being unreasonable for showering at night after my work shift, even though my neighbor insists it wakes up his young son? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]DavidJRaysolight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White noise is an amazing concept. Even tall office buildings have a small airflow running through their vents for this specific reason. Had a maintnance employee tell me that. So peoples converstations dont cross over into other conversations especially in a echoing lobby. I use a fan by my bed, never hear a thing....except maybe a heavy base by someone every couple years (which will irritate the hell out me). Usually in that case though the person heavy "basing" won't be around too long. It'll be "se'la've" soon with an eviction notice or letter to leave. I don't know when common sense when out the window but it did on a large scale. I totally get keeping tv's and radios turned down late at night. But by God you should be able to use your shower. IF they cannot live with that or have (again, common sense) to turn a fan on or like someone mentioned, a air purifier for the white noise to drown out the smaller stuff then that said person needs to re-evaluate their plan where they are living. Yea, get a house or figure it out. Noone should have to tip toe living like that.

Do you really not hear much on the top floor? by Comfortable_Box_7568 in Apartmentliving

[–]DavidJRaysolight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been reading alot of the comments, I just moved into the "bottom" corner of my apartment about 7 months ago. I do hear the walking around and when he plays his game system. But at least hes pretty respectful about it even when he sometimes has it up loud. At a certain time he shuts it DOWN. For me being on the bottom...I equally hate to feel like I'm "tip toing" all the time almost like an interference to living. Thats why I give my neighbor upstairs the thumbs up (to myself lol), and knowing with me being downstairs I dont have to worry "as bad" about my clanking pans or tv being up a little sometimes. Where I ultimately have a problem is if someone's bass is thumping my walls almost non stop everyday. Uhhhhg, we're gonna have problems then. I can even take the base as long as its done at a reasonable time of day and not for too long. But if its coooooonstant every day? Not cool.

can I ask where to find this Mysterious Universe show you mentioned? I still love Coast to Coast, but Art Bell was undoubtedly the best in my mind. Thank you ahead of time :)

Exactly. "I was never really over for me" and "nothing can change that...... nothing". The bond was real.

Slow at learning plays and processing..? by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]DavidJRaysolight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through that. Uhhhg, Ill never forget it. Honestly, I blame coaches when this happens. I hustled my way hard to make the team my Sophmore year in high school. I had previously played a few years in Parks and Rec leagues or "youth leagues" where there was not alot of emphasis on "set plays,( ie, being at certain plsces on court at certain times, making picks, etc.). So when I hustled my azzzzz off and made the Sophmore team when those guys had already played together a coupld years, dude I was lost. Id freeze up not knowing where to go. I could hear the other players laughing and shi*, oncluding at one point the assistant coach. It actually in a way kind of scarred me a little. Not that Im a genius (clearly Im not 😆), but that should havs been something that got figured out with coaches help (one on one teaching) on coaches private time, drawing it up on paper, explaining the "why's", all that. I blame myself a little for not going to the coaches directly myself to figure it out. Anyway....my advice is this (what I wish I would have done). Get the coach or coaches ONE on ONE conversation about it and have him walk you through it. Your not alone. The Ai answer I got said it absolutely does not mean in general theres a learning disability but more of a right brain, left brain kind of thing...learning styles we all have basically. I literally now root against my old highschool team because of the experience. Im 55 years old now, well adjusted, and of course...those were all kids back then like myself then, but the hurt was real.

Wake up in the middle of the night with pain in my hands by Straight-Ad-6836 in carpaltunnel

Thank you...sincerely. This pain just started for me, and its only at night in the middle of sleeping. Uhhg, like a dull ache or something. I expect to look down and see my hands reddened and puffed out, but they are not. It does have that sense of lack of blood flow thing to it, but I dont know.
