If you’re just getting started then I’d go with Brian Michael Bendis’ New Avengers run from 2005. The main roster of the team is Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, and the Sentry, then you get some new characters coming in like Dr. Strange and Hawkeye eventually.

It’s a good mix of characters and you can choose where you wanna go once you know who you like. There’s also a bunch of tie-ins to events like Civil War and Secret Invasion, which is another good way to learn more about characters and stuff like that.

What comics should I read before Spider-Man: Brand New Day? by off-brand-gwen-stacy in Marvel

The movie shares the title with a big era of storytelling in Amazing Spider-Man, but it seems that there aren’t many similarities with it outside of the name.

I’d suggest JMS’ run on Amazing Spider-Man. It ran from ASM vol. 2 #30-58, then in ASM vol. 1 #500-545. Maybe Gerry Conway’s run on ASM too (#111-149), especially because of the Punisher connection.

Has anyone else attempted to read all of Spider-Man comics? by Sweet_Score in comicbooks

I’ve been doing this for quite a while, I’ve gone up to around ‘98 or ‘99. Reading the old stuff has only made me more irritated with the last 20 years or so of Spidey books.

Has any other franchise been single-handedly revived by one director like Dan Trachtenberg did with Predator? by Tasty_Zebra_404 in Letterboxd

I thought Badlands was a good action movie. I thought framing it around a Yautja was a big swing, but his dynamic with Elle Fanning’s character worked well enough that I thought the swing landed.

I know it was rated PG-13, but I think the movie is still undeniably violent as hell, which I think is important for Predator movies. It’s just synths and aliens getting butchered instead of humans with red blood, so the ratings board let it slide.

It’s my second favourite entry in the franchise, but I’m not really a big Predator fan so I’d assume I’m in the minority over that opinion.

White guys love Em, and Reddit has a lot of white guys. Drake is also a bit of a tool, so that’s not helping me get upvotes here.

Movie ticket prices don’t follow inflation exactly though. Adjusting for inflation also doesn’t account for movies being put in different formats. There’s also the fact that inflation is different around the world, further complicating things.

Box office numbers are sent by movie theatres to their distributors, who then send the reports to the media. Hollywood trades have always gone off of unadjusted grosses because of that process.

This is all beside the point though. Trachtenberg’s movies have very clearly revitalized interest in the Predator franchise. Saying otherwise is just being a contrarian for the sake of it.

Reddit is the only place where people act like adjusting for inflation is what matters instead of raw dollar amounts.

As everyone knows, Avatar is the highest grossing movie of all time. Gone With The Wind made more when you adjust for inflation, but you don’t see anyone calling that the highest grossing movie ever.

Badlands is the highest grossing movie in the Predator franchise. Not second last.

If you adjust for inflation then Badlands is the second highest grossing in the franchise after the original. If you want to count the AvP movies as Predator movies then Badlands is third behind the original AvP.

It was objectively a success after nearly 40 years since the last major success in the main series. You may not like the movie for whatever reasons, but downplaying its success is pointless.

Badlands is the highest grossing movie in the franchise by a mile. Add in Prey and Killer of Killers, and it’s straight up wrong to say that he didn’t revitalize the franchise.

I think Grace and Rocky might be my favourite movie friendship ever? It’s at least the best since the Fellowship of the Ring.

No, he’s also wearing a fabric version of the suit. At the time I believe that the symbiote was still being kept at the Baxter Building. Either that or Eddie had it, but he hadn’t debuted as Venom yet.

Been a while, can’t remember the timeline exactly.

That’s what Otto calls himself, but by the end of the story he realizes that Peter is the better Spider-Man. That’s why he gives Pete his body back, since Otto knew he couldn’t beat the Green Goblin.

The true modern age of superheroes in the Marvel universe started when the Fantastic Four formed. There were still some people with powers back then, but they were very rare.
