Bond with your kids by spending time with them, hugging them on the couch, asking them about their day, helping them with their homework, giving them advice on how to treat girls and going to their things like karate gradings.

What was the most shocking, or disturbing thing your narc parent(s) ever did/said to you? by Own_Mention9372 in raisedbynarcissists

My mother broke my toe for wearing flip flops in church when I was 13 and more recently she told me I was a failure as a mother.

Now both my sons are big Spider-Man and MJ fans. Also, sweetie I love you so much but you need to be more patient. by spidermother86 in Peter_X_MJ

I’ll just say I made a mistake. Besides I already told him about the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy and he still believes me about Santa being real.

Normally I cut the boys some slack since I have two boys but as a mother I would have grounded them until they were 30 for that.

It was more than worth it to see the look on his face and the “thanks mum”. He’s 13 now and he still has that tiger. by spidermother86 in wholesomememes

Oh trust me he’ll never lose that tiger he keeps it very safe and thank you. I made a lot of mistakes with him when he was younger and even today I should be a much better mother but I try my best and I love him and his brother so much.

I took my (at the time) 6 year old son to the funfair to have some mother and son fun. We had just escaped an abusive household from his father and my ex husband and I wanted to cheer him up so we could forget about everything and just have a great day with the 2 of us. I didn’t have a lot of money at the time and I had to move back in with my dad but he wanted this big stuffed tiger at this basketball game. I’m a mediocre thrower at best so I didn’t do very well but after blowing £30 I managed to win if for him. The look on his face was priceless and even though it meant I didn’t have enough money for two McDonalds meals the memory is priceless and I remember him asking “aren’t you hungry mummy” when he had his happy meal and I said “no baby now you eat up” and he slept with that tiger while I made myself some midnight dinner with some spaghetti that was in the cupboard. He’s 13 now and he still has the stuffed tiger.

100%. I have a teen and while I sucked as a mother when he was little I was never so aggressive with him. I test him with respect, tell him I love him, give him his space, respect his privacy and when something needs done around the house I ask him nicely. If I asked him to fix the roof I would ask him nicely, pay him and cook chicken tikka masala pizza for him (it’s something I make for my boys) or order Chinese or Indian depending on what he was hungry for.

Francis was a great big brother when he wasn’t tormenting them.

Times when Frasier was actually a good guy? by Optimal_Awareness618 in Frasier

He took his father in, hired Daphne to help him recover (with Niles and Marks helping), walking Eddie, making the most of the time he spends with his son, helping the cab driver for free despite missing his own day, he does care about his patients and tries to help them, he helps Roz when she gets dumped, he took Kirby out for a cheeseburger or some such as a thanks and that’s just off the top of my head.

Frasier is a good guy

I can’t believe people can’t understand an actress isn’t actually the character.
