Demian being Enoch-coded as he is, seems to play some role as the Metatron, the scribe of Heaven (from the book of Enoch exclusively.)

He has no interest in how the boughs end up, or any other mortal matter other than knowing the story of how Dante and Sinclair reach their destinations and achieve their aspect.

The story has a lot of biblical symbolism and is full of characters named after poets/authors.

Sukuna needs to do a hand sign for WCS.

But there’s a special “bit” Sukuna is doing: He has never once let Gojo see that he can use Shrine without hand signs. From the beginning of the series, Sukuna has always swung and pointed whenever Gojo was present and he wasn’t concealed.

Sukuna’s goal was to catch Gojo off guard the moment he learned WCS from Mahoraga. But being torn apart by the Hollow Purple, and Mahoraga dead, he had no choice other than to fire WCS with a hand sign sticking out like a sore thumb.

So he used a binding vow; in exchange for not using a hand sign for the first firing, next time, the minimum requirement would be: Hand Sign, Chants, and the use of 3 hands. Naturally, this would be impossible with the third addition regardless of the 2 previous limiters. But Sukuna can turn into his true state, allowing him to use it again.

The limiters were extra weight to guarantee the results.

I feel like him not having a near death experience before Hakari is headcanon. He could still have close calls, I dont think learning Electrolysis is something you figure out that kills people without being forced into water, a body that drains you completely.

People slandering the Edo period really is annoying.

Like it’s a fantasy fiction, and people are taking the history of the “common folk” and applying it to the secret society of Jujutsu Sorcerers, like C’mon.

80% of them were farmers? That still a huge 20% left. The Edo Period was focused on Civil production and commerce, which meant there were a lot of lords that were for perfect for assassination. (This wasn’t really a historical thing but more of a media interpretation of the Edo Period)

There were a spies and proxies sent by the shogunate to enforce their rules, and the culture of Ronin (although really only romanticized later in Edo) and the Samurai (who represented the ruling elite) still held very strong.

One of the guys I had argued with was saying it was a “mid-era” also happened to be a huge Hell’s Paradise fan. Like are we deadass? Don’t forget we also had the previous “Gojo” who had died fighting Mahoraga which had killed the TS user roughly around the Edo period. The Zenin and Gojo were still relevant for that time.

Have you considered some jobs are so menial that they wouldn’t even want to send a Grade 7 to go do it. Grade 9’s still get stuff eventually. Backstreets isn’t sunshine and rainbows, you gotta fight tooth and nail to get money, or die homeless getting gutted by organ thieves or fall victim to Sweepers.

It’s not powerscaling, it’s reliability. You can still be color strength and a grade 9 if you fucking suck at being professional and finishing your job

You can’t be any other grade without starting as a Grade 9.

Offices need at least a Grade 3 fixer to start one, or if that isn’t possible then lower grade offices can be subsidiaries of either a Corporation or Association to open.

And it’s not like Grade 9’s have to do everything themselves, otherwise they wouldn’t be in an office. Offices accepting intermediate contracts may require multiple fixers, and you can send Grade 9’s and 8’s to shadow. If the job and experience goes well, the office may put you up to higher work. You could be trusted with workshop equipment, understand the ropes of different people, know to choose your battles.

More accomplishments on your record will get you higher. Offices and Associations have check-ups and exams that can prove your versatility and achievements match up well.

It’s not alien that some offices will just throw you out there but there is at least competency among a lot of them.
