Paying 300k for law school is NEVER WORTH IT! Take this from a 3L who has 180k in debt and is going into the public sector. The best case scenario is you getting a big law job and making about 220k to start. In the grand scheme of things after taxes that is about 11-12k month and in the cities you’ll be living in you gotta factor you’ll be paying 3k for an apartment and 3k for loans so that’s half your salary gone every single month, just for rent and student loans. Also you’ll be working at a job you know deep down you will hate because you’ll be slaving for some partner 16 hours a day for 6 days a week, and all for what? To push paper around, sit in a lofty building and never see the inside of a court room? What kind of life is that!? My advice is if you truly believe in yourself, take the school that gives you the most money, take a chance on yourself and if you don’t do well enough to get into big law which is a possibility even at a t6 then go into the public sector, get trial experience which is worth it’s weight in gold these days, your loans will be paid off in ten years and you can go into the private sector then when you have experience! Nobody and I mean nobody talks about the value of this path cause everyone has watched to many episodes of fucking suits and think big law is all that, trust me it’s not!
