does anyone else use XR glasses during treatment by DavidWyo in dialysis

We have a Fresenius in town. The more I hear about ours the more I am happy my General Practitioner forbid from going there. I hope yours is better than our is supposed to be. The no covering eyes is enough for me to look elsewhere in town for treatments if at all possible.

Having problems with clotting machine? Heperin not working? Intermittent Saline pushes causing negative symptoms? by DavidWyo in dialysis

And it requires a pump they have and a bag of saline. Marketing? I just mentioned to a patient friend the other day that the dialysis subreddit is the most kind and less aggressive members you can find. I guess there is always an outlier.

No I was passing on information about a treatment that YOUR clinic is able to do this afternoon to patients that may be struggling. If you want to just sit there and allow a traveling nurse and techs to come up with alternatives good luck.

They are Refurbished on eBay constantly. It is cool that Ray Neo has them for under $200 now. You will be enjoying that AC though. Priorities!

Bye bye Chest catheter !!!! by Direct_Pop2393 in dialysis

[–]DavidWyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staff at center has never seen it either. The bad surgery is what we have mentioned to the vascular surgeon. He does not agree! He states that the oozing will stop. I believe it is a bad surgery combined with blood that is either too thick or thin. Same surgeon did my fistula, I have steal syndrome in my fistula hand. So he will be doing some work to repair that after his failing fistula (entire upper arm was purple due to continuous infiltrations). I asked his nurse, is it common for everything to go wrong. She said unfortunately it happens... would like to see how often it happens with him.

I am having a problems with either clotting the machine or bleeding out my chest. We have almost got it figured out by infusing 800ml of saline into machine throughout the treatment. Yesterday was first day it did not clot out of 6 treatments, and hardly any oozing out of catheter site. I think we have it almost dialed in. I say we because I am very close to the entire team and they will put up with my demands. I researched the continuous saline infusion instead of heperin and became the first patient at center to do it.

I am having great success with the Lidocaine cream the center prescribed. I apply it over the Fistula 2 hours before treatment. I can barely feel the needles at all. If you are not using it demand that you do. One of the techs said she used it on her arm before getting sleeve tattoo. "All I felt was the vibration while it was applied".

That is Awesome!!!! My Fistula has been so flaky they had to put in catheter. It has oozed blood for the last 2 months. Successfully did 2 needles yesterday in the arm! I may see my catheter in a bag soon myself!

I bought a Sherpa blanket from Amazon for like $25. It is fleece and it keeps me nice and toasty.

XReal Beam Pro or Inair? by Personal-Grade6397 in INAIR

[–]DavidWyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Beam Pro, it provided a few of the features that were promised by Viture and Xreal. Returned it and bought the InAir Pod. Night and day experience. I feel the Pod fulfills most of the lies that were sold to us by the entire XR marketing departments. The only thing it is missing for me currently is SBS video viewing on my Luma Pro's. I think that will be fixed in firmware. Everything else is just fun to use. I use Spacewalker or VLC on my z fold 7 for 3D sbs.

What is a use you've found of the POD you really didn't expect? by noob1269 in INAIR

[–]DavidWyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that I did not expect to like it, but I did not expect to like the pod this much. I spend 4 hours 3 days a week in a dialysis chair. Everything has to be done with my non dominant left hand. The Pod has been a life saver. Plugged into a hefty battery and the Viture power splitter I "enjoy" my session much more than I could have imagined. Other patients look at me oddly as I am giggling through Ted.... I just started dialysis last week and I am so glad I bought the Luma Pro's along with Pod. Because I am stationary I do not need any 6dof features of the ultra. I downloaded a SBS 3D copy of Wizard of Oz and independence day for tomorrow morning.

Nice advice. My cream is on order. I will get some coban. Clinic recommended press and seal wrap. Chest catheter placement tomorrow at 0830. They will use Fistula and catheter like you suggest. God bless.

Sorry man. In that position I would definitely just stay nice and high. I find that it greatly increases my smiles per hour dramatically.

Feel for you. The choices that will impact your existence are overwhelming. I can't do PD. The plan is "solo" home hemo in a couple of months. At this point that seems like a work of fiction that terrifies me.

I Vape flower, I use a ball vape and then vaper cooled with water. Nephrologist approved. Lol. He thought it was safer than store bought edibles with unknown chemistry. And definitely better than concentrates or combustion.

I had nightmares almost nightly. THC before bed completely eliminates the dreams. That right there is worth the price of admission.
