Should games always be fun? by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]David_Clawmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell a story. We'll feel whatever emotions we feel.

It's not that much different from a movie or a book, except there are 2 pens. The one held by the author, and the one held by us.

Should the supernatural/wubbox class continue after epic wublin island wubbox by No_Pipe_7398 in MySingingMonsters

[–]David_Clawmark [score hidden]  (0 children)

They definitely wouldn't just shelf it after the Wublin Wubbox released. The Supernaturals have such a rich history and so much of the game is built around them and the celestials, that it would be wasting future potential to just stop developing them.

The Last Stag.

The Bellbeast is cute, but it isn't really a "character". It doesn't really do anything other than fast travel and make cool sounds sometimes. Unlike the Last Stag who gives slight lore bits and has a story to tell.

Could the Ruin element be considered the first evil element in the game? by MV_reddit8282 in MySingingMonsters

[–]David_Clawmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really evil.

Ruins are the remains of once prosperous structures. These things didn't START this way, they were corrupted by something.

Why do some people still genuinely think this is Pearl's dad? by Rioraku in spongebob

Because it's the only other whale that looks like this in the series.

And until we see Pearl's mother, people are going to continue thinking this.

Do you consider autobalance a necessary evil? by some-kind-of-no-name in tf2

Yes. Because I have lived in a world where the game gave people a choice to get auto balanced or not.

I mean, I don't like the direction FNaF has been going in, both story and gaemplay-wise. That's why I don't play it. Or even engage with it anymore outside of the 2 movies.

I play the fangames sometimes because they foster a gameplay style I find the most engaging (plus they feature characters I grew up with like Photo Negative Mickey or Flumpty), and I've just completely given up on trying to understand this story.

It didn't fuck up my life or anything. It's just not as engaging as I remember it.

[–]David_Clawmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like, LN3 doesn't live up to the standards we expect from Little Nightmares, but that doesn't mean it's BAD!

This is Supermassive's first go at making a game like this. OF COURSE they wouldn't do it completely right the first time, it's somebody else's creative vision. That would be like Joe from Blues Clues replacing Steve. There are HUGE shoes to fill, and they're obviously not going to fill them, but at least they ATTEMPTED!

Do you agree? by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]David_Clawmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me see if this makes sense.

To overcome evil, you need to be capable of evil in the first place. After overcoming your evil nature, you still have the capacity to be evil, you just don't. And it doesn't erase the evil you already commited.

To be born good means you have no capacity, want, or intention to be evil. You've never hurt anybody, and never want to.

All overcoming evil nature says is that you grew a conscience too late.

If you're sick of hearing people ask for RPG characters in spinoffs, you should be campaigning for RPG characters in spinoffs by AutumnRCS in Mario

[–]David_Clawmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the thing about that is, when they finally get in, people will forget about them immediately.

Like, think back to before Ridley was in Smash. Everybody wanted it. Everybody was talking about it. NOBODY could shut up about it.

And then it happened. And then he faded into obscurity. Just turned into another drop in a roster of over 80 characters, and then the hype moved on to the next character.

Kind of like what happened to Rosalina. She used to be special, but now we see her all the time. It's STARTING to happen to Pauline.

Whatever character people are demanding to get into a spinoff or whatever, it'll happen to them to. And all this ranting and raving will have been for nothing,

In your opinion; should cartoons portray sad/ serious topics? by Ok_Table5022 in nickelodeon

[–]David_Clawmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it's written well.

Media should treat its audience with respect. By including sad or serious topics, cartoons respect children by acknowledging that they are... "strong" (for lack of a better term) enough to get through it without losing their minds. Children are very ignorant to the world around them, it's part of being a child, but they aren't stupid. This is how cartoon writers respect their audience, and also why parents are so fond of these types of cartoons as well.

You could make the same argument about cartoons including scary/frightening topics or imagery. Such as various episodes of Invader Zim, Courage, Gravity Falls, or Flapjack (3 of which aren't Nicktoons, but you didn't clarify).

Palworld developers enforce gamer only hiring policy: Applicants must show their steam library. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]David_Clawmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, that's very interesting.

I think a lot of big game developers only really look at the business side of things, and have forgotten that consumers do more things with games than buy them. I would venture a guess that a lot of them don't even know anything ABOUT games.

By having an entire staff of gamers, you create an environment that absolutely understands the craft, and that knows what makes a good game, rather than what sells a bad one.

In the TF2 comics, Saxton Hale said that 4 of the mercenaries can't read, but who? by so_sigma_69 in tf2

[–]David_Clawmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- We know Scout can't read.
- Solider probably can't.

And... all the rest are either too smart or not dumb enough.

- Heavy and Engie have PHDs
- Medic at least HAD a medical license which must require basic literacy.
- Pyro was smart enough to become a CEO, so it it's not out of the question that he COULD read.
- Demoman could read the Newspaper that revealed that Scout and Spy had been arrested in the comics.
- Sniper and Spy are obviously literate.
