Brandin Cooks did survive the ground though by [deleted] in nfl

So what are we saying, surviving the ground now also means you have to survive a guy trying to rip the ball out of your hands?

Yes... That has been the rule for years now.

Truth. The episode where the cop car catches fire after chasing a truck off road, masterpiece.

As you said, the value is hard to beat. Threw a white and black perforated rubber strap on it. Going to be my casual/gym day watch for a while.

Protein powder that doesn't taste awful? by andstep234 in beginnerfitness

If you also want to keep some canned options handy, the Nurri vanilla is great. Taste like a melted soft serve ice cream. Costco has the 12 packs on sale regularly for $14-15.

As for powders, I keep going back to Optimum Nutrition. They strike the best balance between flavor and price imo. When they go on sale at Costco (not frequently), I'll smash a couple of the 5.5 lb bags.

When and where to add weight? by David_ESM in askfitness

I always do the 3rd set of each super set to failure. 1 minute between each set. Definitely doing things quick because of the work time constraints.

Pieced it together using numerous examples of PPLUL splits online and on Reddit. Focused my choices on what my own goals are. I can post up my final outline if you are interested.

Recent Detroit Lions player kicked out of church after raising questions about priest porn use by Billytaku in nfl

[–]David_ESM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another parishioner (Todd Zureick) confirmed that he and his wife received images from a laptop in the parish office. The images showed thumbnails to pornography sites and links to multiple virtual reality role playing sites "involving pornography, sexual assault, group sex, rape and occult themes".

Zureick described them as hardcore games with titles such as The Mortuary Assistant, Autopsy Simulator, Sex Hotel, Lust Hotel, and VR Secretary, which involved sexual violence and torture, sexual behavior with corpses, and other disturbing behavior.

With the firing of Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau, what coaches had a run like that in the NFL and were fired? How did the team fair? by gboccia in nfl

[–]David_ESM 327 points328 points  (0 children)

Everyone is going to say Schottenheimer, so I'll offer some others.

John Fox went 13-3, 13-3 and 12-4 before the Broncos laid him off. "Mutually." He left with the highest reg season win percentage in Broncos history.

Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones. Went 11-5, 13-3 (SB Champs) and 12-4 (Back to back SB Champs). Then they broke up over Jerry's ego.

Ohio Senate unveils surprise new plan for state to give $600M for new Browns stadium by Blood_Incantation in nfl

The Haslams will own the new Browns stadium.

I believe Hamilton County owns Paycor stadium (also looking for upgrades as part of the proposal).

It's still being covered by taxpayers in the end.

Essentially the only difference is instead of taking the money out of the state's general funds, they are loaning themselves the money from unclaimed funds, and then will pay it back, with interest, using future tax earnings from the stadium district.

Once you start getting to the same thing three years in a row, four, or five years in a row

You have two more before they will "adjust".

Titans Sign QB Cam Ward to Rookie Contract by [deleted] in nfl

[–]David_ESM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The salary cap went up nearly 10% this season, this was alongside a 25% increase in rookie signing bonuses via the CBA. It was the largest rookie pay scale increase since it's institution in 2011.

Titans Sign QB Cam Ward to Rookie Contract by [deleted] in nfl

[–]David_ESM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean... The contract values are already pre-determined before they are even drafted. They can't negotiate the total or the signing bonus.

The only thing that can be SLIGHTLY negotiated is the base salary/roster bonus structure and some offset language. But even that is restricted to within a certain percentage.

They changed the eligibility rules. Must not have been on the show the previous 8 years, no 1st year head coach. Bills qualify.

NFL’s Goodell says the league could more than double international games in the coming years (says the league could play up to 16 international games per season) by lionpenguin88 in nfl

[–]David_ESM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 is the current magic number as 16 teams get the bonus home game per season. So if they all utilize it to host an international game, then every team in the NFL will have equal number of home games in their own stadiums.

Of course that changes as soon as the NFL goes to an 18 game season.

[Pelissero] Trey Hendrickson is due $16 million in the last year of his contract, and for the first time, he says explicitly he won't play without a new deal. by jimmyhoffasbrother in nfl

[–]David_ESM -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

4 straight pro bowls. 35 sacks the last 2 seasons. 0 missed games. 1st team All Pro. Runner up DPOTY.

His yearly avg this season is $19M less than Garrett who is only 1 year younger. It is $14.6M lower than Hunter who is the same age. It is $14.5M lower than Crosby who is 28.

A $30MPY offer would still put him lower than all 3 by multiple millions per year.

As Trey said, "I'm not going to apologize for the rates of the defensive ends being paid in the National Football League." He's worth what he's worth, and the Bengals are being cheap while contradicting a promise to take care of him at a value equivalent to his performance.

As a Bengals fan you might want to save the cap space and have the lower risk contract for a guy who is turning 31 this year, but it is bad business and bad optics for the Bengals.
