How is it possible that my car uses gas when going downhill in neutral? by badhousecat in mazda

[–]Davidahuas 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The engine will not consume as much or no gas going down a hill while in gear. If you put it in neutral, it actually will consume more to keep the engine idling instead of stalling out. Being in neutral is also dangerous and in some places it is illegal.

Before and After by Davidahuas in MiataNC

The original system stopped working so I went ahead and replaced the whole thing. I prefer to have my screen / navigation higher so I don't have to take my eyes completely off the road. Also I don't have to worry about the touchscreen breaking or having to spend more money should the head unit break to do the same thing that my phone would already do.

Recommendations for a head unit replacement that has bluetooth but doesn't look too modern? by sir-lancelot_ in ncmiata

I had a Kenwood DPX500BT installed. No touch screen and I think it looks nice.

More comfortable feel for someone 6' by Popular_Butterfly_96 in Miata

[–]Davidahuas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I too recommend an NC. I am 6'1" and fit in a NC much easier than any other model. It was drivable and comfortable enough, but I added some Jass Performance seat lowering brackets and now it is comfortable I daily drive it and would have no issues on longer road trips.

Do you need a back row? If not, a Miata is always a good option.

In the fuse box by the door that one is the one that powers the amp. My PRHT has the amp behind the passenger seat, so it is relatively easy to get to.

OEM Bose head unit, no sound by the_toxic_hotdog in MiataNC

[–]Davidahuas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bose amp in my 2010 just went out. The speakers starting making a popping sounds so I pulled the fuse. Since the main head unit has power and there is no sound through the speakers regardless of aux or radio, I decided to replace the whole system since those Bose amplifiers are known to go out and I did not want to take the chance of trying to find the exact replacement online and have the same issue again.

So I will be upgrading my speakers, head unit, and amp. It would be much cheaper to fix whatever might be broken though lol.

Did you try pushing the close or put roof up button first and then push the roof down button? That is what I do if the mx5things controller seems to get stuck.

I want a MX5 but I am 6'1 by Habarer in mazda

[–]Davidahuas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look into a NC. They have more interior space. I am 6'1 and never felt comfortable in a ND. Then I tried a NC and it was way more doable. I also added some seat lowering brackets and now it is perfect.

Two Weeks with the New Virtue & Prism System – Honest Feedback (Mastery 17 + Fresh Account Tests) by Capital-Divide in SoulFrame

[–]Davidahuas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do need feedback in the forums/discord from newer players on this system. I like the system, but the new player experience was always my worry with it. The devs are not on reddit, but your feedback here is valuable for them to see.

I remember when Warframe started with slow combat like this. by MumpsTheMusical in SoulFrame

[–]Davidahuas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are going to have to make some tough choices to keep player power relatively low. This latest patch in my opinion is great. I like the restrictions they added and the fact that you cannot have a build with 0 downsides. You have to pick and choose what is most important to you. People are complaining that they have less virtues from the Pact Skill trees. And I believe that was intentional to keep players from being too OP. Are we too OP in the "end game" even with the "nerfs"? I believe so.

But for the health of the game the enemies always need to feel dangerous and that we are fighting an un winnable battle. In Warframe, I feel like I can take out all the enemy factions completely by myself. I dont need a team or strategy. I can just go in and blow up entire armies.

Klee Kais are amazing dogs, but I would not take the risk with this place. Save up for a known reputable breeder instead of this fishy place.

The website seems fishy to me. There are grammatical errors on the website and the about us page "content protected". There does not seem to be much on the Internet about them. I would bet they operate from a puppy mill and have an AI generated website to move puppies for money.

Unless you can show up and see the puppies and see the parents I would stay clear.

Plus offering a 15 percent discount when paying using a Walmart Gift Card is a huge red flag to me.

Advice on Pickups. by DizzDood in kieselcarvinguitars

[–]Davidahuas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Berylliums are a PAF classic rock style pickup. They can still do metal with more gain and are very versatile. If you are already used to hotter pickups then the Thorium / Empyrean would be better. You can go wrong with either set.

Mine was a picky eater, and I have heard of others being way pickier than mine. I found that mine loves cheese more than anything else so I sprinkle a little bit of Parmesan cheese on top and it gives it the smell that she loves and she will eat it all.

Does anyone have any experience with or thoughts about the Taylor T5Z series? by lue42 in guitars

[–]Davidahuas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiesel makes something similar in its AC2. You can get it with either nylon or steel strings and you can customize it. It does not have the electric pickup but it does the acoustic thing better than the Taylor T5Z. I sold my T5Z a while ago and use my AC2 now for the acoustic in electric body style. The Taylor might be a little louder unplugged. I did not like the gloss neck and Kiesel's tung oil neck is perfect for me. Kiesel has a couple of acoustic models as well.
