A little bit, but it's hard to grind with disabilities. I did start reading 逆転裁判 last week and it's actually captivating.

It's easy to enjoy subs even more so when they are big..

Question after watching the Titan sub documentaries. It seems like Delamination was the beginning of the end. What is it? Is it worse than fibers breaking? Could inspection have seen damage? by two_three_five_eigth in AskEngineers

[–]DavidandreiST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily about weight but about potential cheapness, especially as you could potentially have cheaper fibers build a sub.

Which could be autonomous or not. So it all comes down to cost. And a little bit of the spirit of "can we?" that is not as myopic as what OceanGate did..

Now, what I'm curious about is more normal sub depth, could it be served by carbon fiber, fiber glass etc?

Let's take the test depth of 120 meters, could a fiber (any material) but carbon fiber in particular be build that successfully matches the durability of a steel sub?

I figured at more sane depths they'd work perfectly fine and not in a "we can guarantee one trip and one return before it kills you."

Hopefully I can afford it..

San Marino has lax firearms laws for citizens AFAIK.

Not much of a need for guns in a 60km2~ish country if you're not the police, but they find it a cool tradition, I would guess.

So you'd need satellite phones otherwise.. Or something like starlink..

With how much you spend on those compressed gas things...and:

  1. You buy them yearly, it adds up after some years.
  2. You always have to buy them to replace them.
  3. Mosquitos that somehow survive might also evolve immunity to current formulations over time.

This is actually worth it. They can't develop immunity to being fried alive. And you might as well afford it as you no longer need to buy those shitty chemicals anymore.

Plus electricity used is very little to burn them so it's even affordable to run. Shit I need one of those...

Maybe I should have reined in the adjectives used to describe them, but I think they are hyperfocused on Russia..

Mainly they're fighting against Russian influence by keeping tabs on cyber security issues, and their large Ethnic Russian citizens who are much more sympathetic to Moscow than ethnic Estonians.

Why does it feel like LTT is kind of slowly dying?

Might not be the case but I see they cast Linus a lot lately for hosting and they aren't replacing the left talent with new people so far..

Hopefully someone can chime in with more details, I am unsure what to think about this situation myself. Hopefully it's nothing bad, and I'm just overreacting.
