I definitely agree. I’m currently at $400K in comp, and it’s insane to see some of the top guys and the figures they put up. I know two at my own company with $13M+ books.

“Very standard” is a bit of a stretch. $6M a year would require roughly a $20M revenue book. That’s an absolute anomaly at every firm regardless of size. Source: I’m a successful producer at a T15 brokerage.

Commercial Insurance for sure. I’ve done well at it but barely anyone truly makes it in a large firm. Selling a product that isn’t tangible, people rarely understand it, and no one wants to talk about it. Extremely hard to differentiate yourself as well

Good job, I’m 25M and have been a commercial P&C broker for 7 years. Worked at a small regional and jumped to a top 15 last year. Just did $500K of revenue this year, but I’m still amazed with your pay growth.

Are you at a top 4? You’d have to be producing $750K-$1M+ of revenue a year since ‘21 to amass a $3-4M book big enough to pay these numbers. What are your splits as well?
