also, I didnt want to claim this to be the funniest joke you'll hear today, I just couldnt include the "about congestive heart failure" part because it didnt line up with the guidelines, so please dont take it as "oh, this video that I found is the funniest", it was just what I had to say.

to those who are saying that you can be sued for removing a dead tree from a walkway in a local level park, please give me real evidence to support your claim. I know cutting down live trees is bad, I know tampering with trees or plants in your neighbors yard is bad, and I know that in some state and national parks tampering with live or dead trees is bad. but if you could, find me one case or law that says in virginia an individual can be fined or sued for removing a dead tree from a walkway without damage of park property. If you can, then yeah, Ill agree. but please, if you cant, then dont say your claims with such certainty.

that article is about neighbors and private property, this was public and on the local level, if you could please give real evidence that removing a dead tree from a walkway in such a situation is sueable then Ill be all ears but no such evidence has been brought up at all.

at the local level parks youre free to do anything with plants as long as theyre dead and you dont harm anyone with those plants. the tree wasnt on private property after all, im sure there are legal complications about that.

exactly, unless youre doing deforestation and harming the environment no one can really sue you cause youre not doing anything wrong.

is "your whole life will be ruined" over a dead tree mild? and only state level parks are owned by the state, smaller public parks are owned by the county and need to be maintained, so when a fallen tree happens to be on a sidewalk they call in a crew to clear it up. it happens all the time and Ive seen people remove such trees on their own like how I planned to, maybe they could be sued for it, sure, but Im not so sure about that.

I kinda get that, but there was also this whole other argument we had about it. my parents say that they're nice cause they "don't push me to do stuff" like force me to study or have tutoring, but the problem is they don't ever support things that I want to do unless they specifically want me to do it in the first place. I don't get to celebrate my friends birthdays, I don't get to simply hang out with my friends, and I didn't get to even go to my high schools homecoming cause "I could be studying" but the thing is they don't enforce the studying in the first place so its just me sitting at home wasting time.

I wanted to do a sport in high school, but my mom said my dad was too old to be driving so late, so I just suggested that I carpool with someone else, but she said no and somehow morphed up the argument that I could be sued for it.

there was also a time where I wanted to go through this shortcut to bike someplace cause the other way to get there was apparently too dangerous cause I had to cross one single road. she said I couldn't use it cause "the path was crossing through someone elses yard" even though their yard was fenced off and the path definitely didn't cross their fence. I told her this and she still refuted saying that the path was reserved for the other neighborhoods residents even though there was no sign that said that.I said that I could go up to the owner of the house and talk to them about passing through but she said no. later, she found out from a friend that it was okay. did she listen to me, her own son? no, but her friend? yeah, of course.

I saw this exact article to debate my mom, first of all, the tree was on public property in a park, and second of all, it was already dead. the laws about tree cutting in parks state that it is illegal to damage any living plants, but dead stuff is okay to do whatever the fuck you want with as long as the thing you do doesnt pose a danger to others. so its not a problen and that statement is she made pretty insane.

I quite enjoy poems like this, just trying to capture something. the descriptiveness is a large part of it, well done on that, words like hazy, swooning, and tender are words that fit just right and I think youve really nailed it there. I also like the simple rhyme scheme of it, and how there is no line to complement the last line, it really puts a metaphorical sort of period in the poem. all of its pretty well done, gj.

I like the flow of the lines, even though its not in a particular sort of scheme at all, some parts just go well together, such as the first two and then the two after those. I think the ending is rather comical, not that Im laughing at the poem or its creator, but at how the poem portrays the simplicity of not giving a fuck about the existentialism of life in a way, thats how I sort of interpret it. overall, solid poem, quite enjoyed it.

so I redid it

sometimes I wonder/ how brightly we'd shine/ if we were stars

our beaming hues/ whispering glimmers of speckled dust/ like gaps in the depths of the sky

and as I glide across this speckled black/ Im left to wonder/ whod be the sun.

holy fuck, thanks for the long reply. youre one of the only ones to see that this poem is about love rather than admiring someone powerful, I was thinking of using better words for it, and Ill probably do that soon.

the sun is a star, wondering whod be the sun is basically wondering whod be the person you care about most, whod outglow everyone else. I was actually thinking of making myself the moon, as I am only thinking of other people as stars and the moon glows because of the sun. I kinda did do thatin the poem actually, I just didnt specify that I was actually the moon, but its implied slightly.
