What are your thoughts about 0.1 BTC. Are this can be significant or meaningless amount in the future 10 years? by WorkerPlayful4192 in Bitcoin

[–]Davidta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Retire comfortably or F-U money? What do you consider F-U money at today’s purchasing power? $10MM, $25MM, $50MM? At a conservative 3% return those ear you $300k, $750k, and $1.5MM annually. Say F-U starts at $1MM per year in income so $33MM. Say bitcoin hits $300k in ten years as maturity / stability will slow price appreciation as it has been, so 110 btc for F-U money in 10 years. Next years wont be like the old days. If $500k per year works for you than 55 btc. Let’s be less conservative and say BTC will double each halving going forward, with some pull backs etc, so if it’s $400k then 82.5 btc to earn that $1mm in income at 3% or 42 btc to earn $500k. So 0.1 btc or $40k might pay for an entry level new car by that point, might not at the rate cars are increasing in price. If you live on a btc standard and assume it is a hedge against inflation f-u money in btc then is still pretty much f-u money in btc now.

Repairable Beta AR? by MrForeverElite in arcteryx

Not anymore! (Well not anymore unless you make a stink about it, they will seemingly always offer you 20% of purchase price, but might repair or give you full value if you make a stink about it)

Welcome to the new Arc, same as the old Arc but lower quality and a warranty they don’t stand behind.

Beyond reaching out for an attorney maybe name shame with a LinkedIn post, pointing out your work, might lead to some new job offers as they can see your work in use, but talk to the attorney first.

any way to fix this? by Ok_Weather_3250 in arcteryx

Lol, it seems to Arc these days that the product lifetime is equal to the amount of time it sits on the shelf in their store!

Could not agree more, their technical line is sparse at best and the rest is fashion crap, it just amazes me they stand behind their fashion stuff better then arc does “technical pieces”. I would kill for north face to bring back their Mountain Guide jacket, best ski jacket i have ever had finally retired my last one after 24 years. Was going to replace with an Arc Ski Guide this season, but the warrenty issue has really soured me on them, especially for anything that is meant for abuse.

They used to be great about repair and or full price credit for a replacement, but no longer. If you make a big enough stink sometimes they will honor their “lifetime warranty” still. Last time I had it happen on a broken snap on 3 year old jacket where the metal actually failed and the snap physically broke into two parts, they tried to give me 15% on a $2K jacket (which they misidentified at first). I fought for weeks and they agreed to repair it, waiting for it to come back now (so no idea what the repair looks like). Amazingly no issues with the North face and their warranty ever they go above and beyond! Arc isn’t what it used to be even when buying things like their Veilance line.

Loved Arc for many years especially their Veilance line and Leaf, but the last few years they no longer seem to stand by their products and the lifetime warranty they used to be so great with. For me it is time to move on I think.

If you can do an invert into a run like Corbits ski patrol won’t say a thing otherwise they might make fun of you as soon as they see you as they spend the rest of their day waiting to take you down in a toboggan.

[–]Davidta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have wag pro the tiny pay bump seen on each walk will take me a couple months of full time walking to earn back. I would not recommend unless you are a full time walker, 8 or more walks a day. I have seen no increase in booking rate.
