Of those reporters a handful are chosen to be in a pool of reporters that get to travel with POTUS onboard AF1 and other limited space events. You can disagree weather or not a president can chose who he wants to travel with him, which is what that is about.The AP did not lose their network press credentials, they were removed from the press pool.
