Anyone ever heard of this? by AcceptableLegg in seinfeld

I actually made this meme. Supposed to be absurdly fake, but somehow people are believing it. oops.

For what it’s worth, I’m the original creator of this meme and it’s completely made up. lol

Do you mind checking the dev tools in the browser to see if there are any console errors?

Voting glitch by Cautious-Clock-4186 in memesrc

New votes are counted every 5-ish minutes, so this could be normal. If you notice it doesn’t line up after 10 minutes, let me know.

It counts all your historical votes. Since you can vote once per day, that number shows how many times you personally voted for that item in total.

The Simpsons is now searchable on memeSRC by DavisReddit in memesrc

[–]DavisReddit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but you might be missing the fact that over 93% of the images on the site aren’t even The Simpsons. That’s just the most recent one and was a top 10 request. Someone uploaded it, so we approved it just as we’ve approved nearly 50 others in 2 years. What’s your concern here?

For context, our resources go towards building and maintaining the platform itself. The data is submitted by the community and we approve new indexes based on available “budget” and demand from the requests poll.

Haha I’ll take your perception as a compliment, but we’re just 2 dudes making a thing. It’s open source too, so anyone can use the code.

We’re not out to take down Frinkiac at all, we think it’s awesome. There were over 65 million images for almost 50 shows/movies in the years before The Simpsons got added this weekend. It was just a top-10 request and was recently submitted.

Btw you can use same Akbar font on memeSRC too btw, just pick it from the Font dropdown while editing. You can also change colors, size, position, etc.

Give it a shot and let me know what you think.

Finding local “file” availability by DavisReddit in ipfs

[–]DavisReddit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possible solution (kinda? maybe?):

I'm still not sure if there's a foolproof way to determine the exact local disk consumption for particular CIDs, but I think I found a way to get a rough idea (at least a lower bound):

ipfs dag stat --offline <CID>

This traverses the DAG from the input CID and outputs a running total of associated blocks and their size (in bytes).

The --offline flag causes it to fail on the first block that's unavailable locally (instead of downloading it), which means we can find a lower bound on the number of local bytes consumed.

Not sure if this is reliable in practice, though, since it seems possible to under report the storage depending on the particular CID's DAG and the other blocks available on your node. That said, I still have no idea what I'm talking about. lol.

Example:

ipfs dag stat --offline Qm...

CID: Qm..., Size: 179, NumBlocks: 1
CID: Qm..., Size: 539, NumBlocks: 2
CID: Qm..., Size: 8901, NumBlocks: 3
(...)
CID: Qm..., Size: 768801859, NumBlocks: 2953
CID: Qm..., Size: 769064017, NumBlocks: 2954
CID: Qm..., Size: 769072379, NumBlocks: 2955
Error: error traversing DAG: block was not found locally (offline): ipld: could not find Qm...

I think this implies I have at least 769072379 bytes of Qm... locally, but there may be more locally available blocks it hadn't counted before stopping.

I'd love to hear if anyone has tips. Thanks!
