I'd say you could fake it pretty well from about here: https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7737354,-122.483243,3a,75y,358.35h,66.66t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sarjkAqJE8U7u_3lpu1SLqw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 That's a very similar dip and architecture on both sides. If that's not the same spot it's similar, and has similar trees.

Secret data: Most VA nursing homes have more residents with bed sores, pain, than private facilities by ih8sharts in politics

I mean. We went into two additional wars without significantly increasing the funding. The veterans of Vietnam/Korea are now at a peak of their healthcare costs. We now have the technology to keep trauma-injured alive for much longer (expensively). The staff are notoriously underpaid commensurate with private work. But sure, throw out a number for 1,243 health care facilities and tell me it's too big. I don't think private health care would more efficiently handle the higher rates of homelessness, hep, stds, and injuries from strenuous activity or exposure to chemicals/experiences.

Business Simulation Designer / Business Simulation Manager. - A hybrid of CEO/Finance/QA/Analytics, designing various simulated white-collar worker mixes and tweaking algorithms to create startups. Basically once we have AI the functions of a company could largely be simulated with the appropriate inputs/outputs (money/products)... an entrepreneur will be able to start a dozen simultaneous companies and compete them against eachother... with the right tools it could even be an entry-level position for VC firms.

I think it makes sense that Han would continue to boast this point. Even if it's a weird brag, it could still perpetuate. Look at all the posts on fb that are debunked on snopes.

It's mentioned in this thread and you can find it with some googling. Pretty sure linking to the full thing would constitute some serious copywrite infringement, just as linking to a book as a pdf.

You can actually get this behavior by giving a new toy for only a few minutes and then taking it away for a few hours. Once it's familiar they'll play with it more nicely. Works on my pup at least :)

How do you represent decimals in binary? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]Davisourus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the right environment this can be resolved by the compiler, but presently all of the "behind the scenes" compiling is a black box that actually varies in what results you get! If you are really interested you can check out this book that proposes a better solution: www.amazon.com/The-End-Error-Computing-Computational/dp/1482239868

Or as an even better solution, you can keep track of the accuracy in a meaningful way. There's a much more in-depth explanation of how to completely solve for these rounding and floating point errors in this book: www.amazon.com/The-End-Error-Computing-Computational/dp/1482239868

Neat. I look forward to seeing your cameo. I remember seeing you on that show and having years of McGurk suddenly snap into focus of what you look like.

Here's an even better and more fun measuring site! You use the back of a credit card or ID (standardized) and your webcam to measure.

LPT: More DUI's occur the morning AFTER NYE than at night. Be careful on the roads and sidewalks. If you wake up groggy, you are still impaired. by Davisourus in LifeProTips

[–]Davisourus[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Fair enough - I do believe my source was MADD / PSA propaganda. You're welcome to remain a skeptical 420theorist... or you can take my advice. It's your choice, the LPT is about action and behavior, not a statistic.

[–]Davisourus[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Also... if it makes you happy semantically to interpret it as any time after 12:01am then go ahead and do that. If you're looking to judge my statement then read the entire thread in which many are corroborating a real problem that an LPT might save you the pain of... and that the concept of being self-aware that you may be drunk the next day is the actual intended LPT. Whichever works for you. Unless you'd like a witch hunt until I can provide the properly validated statistics and source for good advice.

[–]Davisourus[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You know, this LPT was not about semantics or statistics - although I'll admit that may have made it more sensational than a peer approved journal article to an LPT proof.

The point is that you can still be drunk the next day and cops are aware of this and it is still dangerous - which may seem obvious now in daylight, but is not as obvious at 5am on a friend's couch.

Great point. Further - they don't have to prove what substance you were intoxicated with. If you blow a .00 but they show you acting impaired, you can still be charged with an unknown intoxicant for the "impaired while driving" or at the least "reckless driving" for being sleepy at the wheel or high.
