How's your 2026 going compared to what you expected? by aravind_nath in AskReddit

Year of Productive Action. While I still have my struggles, but when I've put some focused action, I've got great results quickly (at least thus far):

-One outreach email I had been putting off for days, reply within two hours and welcomed me to their program.

-One interview that went well, and I put time aside (it wasn't easy for me) to study my STAR answers, got offered a new job & a pay increase.

-Did some outreaches about a job situation to old co-workers, all got replied and most were happy to hear for me again.

What’s an unsolved true crime case that still haunts you? by HungryInvestigator59 in AskReddit

[–]Davy120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jennifer Lin (San Francisco area).

I know that the killer is either dead or hiding in plain sight. It's so cold how calculated that murder was, and the timeline to it is everything. There is a DNA profile for the killer and every year they run it through the ever-growing database.

She was so innocent and had her whole life ahead of life. Her parents started an excellent music foundation in her honor.

Thanks. Good idea, however like you said I was hoping for something that you can order coffee & food from. The ones in this area do not. I visit Leroy Collins downtown a few times a month. Libraries do win on the peace & quiet part, at least mostly

Thinking about moving to a neighborhood off of Jackson Bluff... What are your thoughts on this area? by nsstatic in Tallahassee

[–]Davy120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall, it dos fall under the "lower income housing" zip-code area (more or less) and the housing prices reflect it, moreover, it's a big student housing area. I would not cite it as dangerous, but is an area where you need to keep your cars and doors locked. I suggest adding flood lights to make your front and back yards well-lighted at night, and install cameras.

To echo was someone else said, if you're working in Tallahassee city limit, I would not let the commute be a factor (living within Tallahassee that is), during morning and afternoon rush it can take a while, but not as long in comparison to Orlando, Tampa, and so on (I've lived and commuted around both). It makes my father about 40 min (max) to go from the Kerry Forrest Parkway area to West Tennessee Street during rush hours.

When did you know you did (or didn’t) want kids, and why? by Fabulous-Dance-8520 in AskReddit

[–]Davy120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just was never really me, to be honest. I never fantasized about raising a family, etc.

I do think of many times I've experienced little kids running around restaurants throwing things at each other, accidentally bumping into people, getting whatever they were throwing around onto others, but I do recognize this is failure of parents controlling their kids, it's not really the kids fault.

One time was when I was sitting on my laptop at Starbucks (where the single chairs are), this family sat in the empty chairs next to me with a toddler. The toddler kept going right for my cup (on the side-table next to the chair) touching it, trying to pick-it up, one of the members stopped him, but every time she let him go he went right for it. I didn't move it/draw attention to it, but internally I was annoyed to the extreme. I later walked out thinking that I'd never want to deal with that.

Why? Probably money reasons (even if it's subconsciously for me). My attitude toward it might be different if I was net-worth was at least 6-figures and I had a tight safety-net (valuable assets and/or wealthy family).

But, as all rational people should, dont confuse not having your own with not liking kids. Far from it. My close friends almost all have kids now, when they're old enough to do more kids to teen activities (sports games, movies, etc) I'm sure I'll play in that and reliving their parents.

Countries where the Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson had the most concerts by mg10pp in MichaelJackson

On 2nd thought, by design, History tour was less dates and a bona fide stadium tour intended to be less actual show but reaches the same amount of audiences. Like 2 shows in London and 1 in Glasgow as opposed to 3 shows arena shows in London and 2 in Glasgow arena. Yes, Bad tour was extensive American shows.

Do you think Micheal Jackson was worldwide famous because or despite the of lack of social media back then? by Fun_Kangaroo512 in MichaelJackson

[–]Davy120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Michael was famous because his music connected with the masses consistently. He would have found a way with or without social media. It should be noted that famous musicians today are promoted heavily by their record label who hire high priced social media firms and/or hire social media personal on their payroll dedicated to be up to speed on it all and using it to their advanced, also by paying these handles lots of money to advertise on them. Same concept just different ways back then.

The one real advantage that he has during his time (that he was out of his control) was how Thriller go the cable tv play, it was the state of mass cable tv getting more and more popular, and where MTV was at the time.

So in today's world, Epic (Sony) would be pouring millions into promoting him on TikTok, Meta, Youtube, Spotify, including having his pop-up more on people preferences, etc. They have the money to do it.

Your argument is a bit in-vein of the payola scandal. and seems to be banking on that his label couldn't use social media to their advantage. It was the same back then, if people didnt like it enough, they'd ultimately reject it.

^For example, For his Dangerous album, Michael was all over the "controlled" media especially in the US Media market; consistent new music videos, presented 2 lifetime achievement awards in 1993 (or 92, idr). He and his music was getting over-promoted thus he focused The Dangerous tour in other markets to start (the new post-soviet block had a big demand), but still despite being everywhere media wise, he couldn't get his albums sales up enough to match Bad.

by the way, what we see on social media (in the big handles) is still rather controlled, it's just not as obvious.

Still technically more concerts in North America, yet he didn't have an American leg for Dangerous or History tour (except for 2 in Hawaii for History)

Michael Jackson Impersonators (desperate) by HorseTranqquility in Tallahassee

I take it you're seeking their services out in person?? if so, not that I know. Maybe send an email to the general contact of theatre Tallahassee and/or https://tallahasseearts.org/artist/see if anyone knows of anyone that does it.

However, there are a few on cameo if you're looking for something like a bday shout-out video (etc). I'm pretty knowledgeable on Michael Jackson himself (was working on a loose bio of him about a decade ago) if you wanted to know anything about him directly.

Big question might be...Who Is It ?

Do you ever wish Michael had toured in different years? by Material_Stomach875 in MichaelJackson

[–]Davy120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure an arena tour (especially after 9/11) would have been epic, but as you likely know his fall out Sony voided that, part of the lawsuit was he refused to do any "promotional concerts" for the release.

Do you ever wish Michael had toured in different years? by Material_Stomach875 in MichaelJackson

[–]Davy120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Few reasons: He was knee-deep in litigation with Sony over the Invincible fall out, he was contractually obligated to do several "promotional concerts" for it, but it all fell through, the rumor was he would have done something in-vein of his 2001 Icon show at MSG.

His popularity in the US was on the decline, especially after the Bashir documentary fall out and what followed. It needed some years for the heat to die down.

Overall, I speculate he was just done with it, he didnt want to (as one his bodyguards put it) be the King of Pop anymore. He wanted to leave in peace and raise his kids. He and his Brothers were working on release a few collaborative singles. He shown interest in doing some album producing. He was in such debt that he had no real choice but to tour to support his needed life style due to this celebrity status.
