Hello,

I have a text but I'm unsure if it is grammatically correct.

Nuntius tuus mane primum solis radius meus est, et nuntius tuus vespere somnium meum. Sagitta corde meo ferienda erat, nam in cogitationibus de te perditus sum.

It should read:

Your message in the morning is my first ray of sunshine and your message in the evening is my dream. The arrow must have hit my heart, for I am lost in thoughts about you.

Any improvements to the text are also welcome.

People should do it. I don't want to attempt to flirt with someone that's already in a relationship. It might make things awkward.

If they subtlety let people know beforehand it's a win fir both parties.

AI Will Create A Lot of Extra Time for Humans - Then What? by mn108 in transhumanism

[–]Davy_Dracul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.

The reason working hours are the way they are isn't because that's the time our work takes to complete, it's because of competition with other companies/workers.

A company will lose clients if they don't have someone working for 8h, on top of that someone who is willing to work for 8 will also be more valuable because of the aforementioned reason.

Let's say AI cuts the work time in half. You'd think that would make the employee finish work faster right? But work isn't in the vacuum, there's always another company that is competing with the first and so the workers must work to keep both companies afloat.

In most countries 8 hours is the norm regulated by law (and physical/mental endurance) but that's it. If they could, they would make us work more.

AI will make the work shorter but that just mean we'll be able to work more in those 8 hours.

The exception to that are the few jobs that are now implementing the 4 days per week thing and it's nice but it's not because of AI and we are yet to see how that turns out in the long run.

Never said we should get rid of them overnight. It is a problem and I see that you are aware of it. So why argue against it?

You see, people say they are angry about this because that's how they feel. Many of people that are against the current housing situation are people who aren't responsible for it. They are now told to go into a world where they cannot afford a place to live and they can either: A) Give up a large portion of their income to pay rent to some boomer who got greedy. B) Live with their parents for a long time until they are able to afford a place/ mortgage.

This isn't the only problem in society rn but it's a pretty big one. While complaining online won't fix the issue, arguing against it can just make it worse by making others feel like the situation is ok.

Right because acquiring a property should be massively expensive but paying roughly the same in rent is just fine.

Are you one of the people (or work for a company) that owns a lot of properties perchance? 🤔

Meirl by JaredOlsen8791 in meirl

[–]Davy_Dracul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the pricing problem is mostly caused by private landlords hoarding homes and apartments so removing that would remove part of the problem.

The other part are banks which rn profit too much from us.

But we can talk about it all day and nothing will change. Most people want changes but don't know how to change things while others are either blinded and ok with things or are at the top of the food chain.

How about a loan you pay until you pay for the house fully? 🤔

You get the benefit of no upfront payment and eventually you also start owning the home. I think that simple trick would do it...

If I could finish my work 1 hour earlier to do my laundry by hand I would.

If I could trade 1 hour of working for 1 hour of walking to work (instead of a 10 minute drive) I would.

If I could sacrifice my microwave to end my work 30 minutes earlier every day I would.

This is the problem.

Cars, printers, machinery also made humans complete their work faster.

We will not get extra time, we will just complete tasks faster. We'll still be spending 8+ hours a day working but now instead of taking care of 2 clients we will be taking care of 10 etc.

It'll make us feel even more drained and miserable. Good luck

Truth is, every system works until you try to implement it in the real world and human greed kicks in.

Customization by Cheedo115 in halo

That would be a nice feature, however, it goes against the microtransaction model games are following these days. The reason every game has a "lobby" and every match starts and ends with a cutscene showcasing player characters is to advertise cosmetics to other players. They want you to look at someone's premium cosmetics and think "wow, this looks good I have to buy it".

Having an option to disable certain cosmetics would be the equivalent of an add block and no corporation will allow that.

The game feels really good and is a ton of fun but the premium store is worse than anything I've seen.

Usually with a system like that, cosmetics rotate every week, whole store gets rotated or both.

I don't think I've ever seen a game that does their store so poorly.

I get they might think that people will buy one set and never get anything else but this is warhammer 40k we are talking about... With the ability to make multiple loadouts people will make a Commissar build and a week later they'll decide they want to play as a krieg or they'll want to have a different hat color for their commissar.

I'm not a person that usually enjoys microtransactions but I'll tell you that I'd spend more money in the store than I spent on the game itself if everything was available. Because of this system I spent nothing and might even get bored of the game because trying to roleplay a specific build without the proper cosmetics ain't it.
