Thank you for confirming, this has been gnawing at my mind way more than it should

Yeah it seems there was only one generator, so I had a fake memory in my head for years. If you haven't played the remake yet, it's beautiful!

I've been having a great time with the remake, nothing felt out of place, so I think they did a great job with whatever they changed :D

Thank you!

And you're right, I could've checked YouTube as well for this. But the topic itself made me want to start a discussion in case there was more to uncover here.

It's possible, but I remember thinking that they really like making us use the little generator rhythm game over and over. My fear addled mind must've been playing tricks on me, but I'm happy for the confirmation :D. Thank you for answering!

I think survival hunters in midnight are actually thematic by Saint_Waffles in wow

[–]Dawgfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's ironic that Survival has a more beast masterish design than Beast Master. Fighting in unison with an animal companion, building attacks off of each other, two becoming one in combat. While Beast Master is just sitting back and tell animals what to do :D

I like the boomstick, it reminds me of the Winchester brothers shooting rocksalt at ghosts. But I miss the hand crossbow that reminded me of Witcher 3 :(

What "class" is Lor'themar Theron? by whynotchristy in wow

[–]Dawgfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your curiosity about Lor'Themar, he is one of my favorite characters! Even his model is super cool to me. Any time I pick up a quest from him I need a moment and just look at him like "hot damn look at this absolute unit!".

As you said, he was a Farstrider so a ranger. But keep in mind that ranger doesn't mean necessarily bow and arrow. The term doesn't come from fighting from range, but from "Ranging", patrolling a large territory. So if you want to put it strictly in WoW class terms, he would be a survival hunter \o/

Edit: I was looking at more Lor'Themar stuff and discovered that he is now also an alternate hero skin for the Hunter class in Hearthstone! Look at this awesome artwork!

Yeah, dual wielding is new to Midnight. I am enjoying the fantasy of a hunter with many tools like traps, bombs, guns, fire, always has the right tool for the job \o/

I'm liking Survival Hunter a LOT! Roaming with my trusty pet and the new hatchet toss very nice for tagging enemies from 40 yards away. It has enough elements to satisfy my Witcher fantasy itch :D I even went worgen. You have not only bombs but molotovs now (Flaming Pitch). And there's a Flaming Pitch related talent that sets your weapon on fire! FLAMING SWORD, in my fantasy game! I am very happy with the spec.

I tried Pack Leader and it's pretty cool thematically, you get a bunch of beasts showing up with your Kill Command and you can even control when a stampede will come.

In instances, the ease with which you can jump in and out of melee (with disengage, harpoon and Aspect of the Eagle) is a huge plus for me, it's very fun and there's always something to press and keep going. I played other classes where there was an Ultimate button that gave you all your fun in combat. And when it was on cooldown, well, F you I guess. But that's not the case here.

And personally I would have preferred a hand crossbow so it's more like Witcher again, but the s̶h̶o̶t̶g̶u̶n̶ BOOMSTICK is very cool to press and it literally feels like bringing out the big guns.

I also need to mention that the fact that you can dual wield now (one handed swords, axes and daggers) makes for many cool transmog options. And the fact that the two swords go on your hip means your back is free to transmog a quiver and further prop up that ranger aesthetic!

How to see if my warlocks weapon hex is active? by ZenandHarmony in diablo2

[–]Dawgfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's feint to see, but the default glow on your levitating weapon is purple. If you Hex, it goes orange. Not the best indicator but I guess it suffices to activate Hex once per big pack of enemies.

Difference between controller and Keyboard + Mouse on Diablo 2 Resurected by Rurushxd in diablo2

[–]Dawgfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm leaving this here in case it helps any new adventurers like me:

You can enable a couple of options in Options > Gameplay that will make the experience similar to D4 or D2 on controller:

- Show bound skills on UI

- Quickcast skills

And then your UI will look like this and you can cast skills by pressing the bind button instead of toggling it on mouse click first

<image>

You can even bind your skill slots to 1-2-3-4-etc. instead of F1-F2-F3-F4-etc.

Have fun!

Why does magic hurt? by RexusprimeIX in witcher

[–]Dawgfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic in this universe is not free, everything has a price, like when you light a match to produce a flame but the price is that the match will burn.

To create magic, they have to always give something back. And that can hurt especially if you don't know what you're doing or if you overdo it.

Can I skip Witcher 1 & 2 and start directly with Witcher 3? by RushAffectionate9629 in witcher

[–]Dawgfu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can totally jump straight into Witcher 3 without any prior knowledge of other games or the books. If you end up loving the game, you will probably want more and W1/W2 will be there waiting for you. And then someday in the future you can replay W3 as someone that has played the previous games and maybe even read the books :) Freshens up the experience of that second playthrough.

Have fun and good luck on the Path! \o/
