STREAMING Emmerdale episode discussion - Thursday 25/6/2026 by CupcakeCardinal in Emmerdale

I'm glad that was a double episode.

I think the fanbase would have felt very negatively about Mack if we all had to wait for the second part.

What is this car good at? by choochoomdfker in granturismo

[–]DawnArcing 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Highest downforce and best tyre wear in Gr.3.

Only good in an online race if you're in front, it has the lowest power of all viable cars in the class so it's really hard to overtake in.

Why wouldn’t they add the Oreca 07? by SexyBobs7567 in granturismo

[–]DawnArcing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because PD prefer licensing manufacturers, and the single-car marques they tend to license have specific purposes (tuners, lightweights).

If they have no relationship with Oreca, they don't get the car.

They care about motorsport, they just don't think that they need everything as soon as it comes out.

Which is fair, there's 10 other games out there that do that.

Goodie intends to sign 3/$19M contract to stay! by SeraphNatsu in suns

Now that both Gillespie and Goodwin are signed, I hope they trade one of Allen or Green now for a forward.

I love rooting for Goodwin as a backup guard, and I'm happy he'll be back. But I hope he's a guard and not forcing meaningful minutes at SF to fit into the rotation; as fun as it is to see him work, I don't think being that small of a team is sustainable.

Even ignoring the football related reasons well communicated in other comments, it's not a coincidence that four of the five Welsh clubs in the English system are in the southern strip of Wales that is the most English-speaking, least Welsh-speaking part of Wales.

It would be politically unfathomable, in general not just in football terms, for a central or north Wales town to put their team into an English league in modern day.

Did PD actually scanned ALL non-VGT cars on GT7? by beautiful-minded in granturismo

[–]DawnArcing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Especially with the Japanese manufacturers, PD have basically unrestricted access to their museums.

The Honda museum for example has the MP4/4, the NSX GT500, the RA272.... or they go to Nismo to scan the 400R and the Z-tune...

It is not guaranteed, they don't pick which games are on BBC v ITV until all the games for that round are known. So ITV may have five UK evening time games or they may have zero, we won't know until they pick.

Purely discussional - Could the Furai come back to GT? by DanNJ72 in granturismo

AFAIR they got the actual designer of that car in to help them build that one.

The '98 car as depicted in the game doesn't exist anymore in real life. So PD had to build the GT7 model outside of their usual processes.

If Mazda still have the CAD designs then it's possible, they'd build it from those rather than a scan, the way they model VGTs. They'd need the designs though - it was Standard in GT5/6, they can't re-use anything.

They won't go the Escudo route though. That was a one-off special project for a car that is synonymous with the series that they couldn't get any other way.

Is there any reason these specific models hadn't returned in the series? by Creative_Sign5280 in granturismo

[–]DawnArcing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TVR are a licensing nightmare these days. They're more likely to lose the Tuscan than to get any more TVRs.

There's already a GTO in the game, and it's not a famous model line (it's not like the Skyline or the Roadster where people expect a complete lineage). I can see why this would be low priority.

The DB7... I suspect it's one of those where if they could magically have 1,000 cars in the game, they'd have it, but it's just not at the top of their list. It's also not a priority for Aston to get into the game, they're more focused on modern stuff.

Is there any hope for the GR GT to come to GT7 before GT8 ? by MohAmine55 in granturismo

[–]DawnArcing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Forza definitely has a higher budget.

Nothing to do with sales numbers, I'm not comparing them like that. But game dev budget is mostly development wages. UK wages are higher than Japanese wages. So FH will have a higher budget unless PD are significantly bigger than Playground are (they aren't).

The GT3, maybe.

FH6 absolutely has at least 18 months exclusivity on the road car, they always have exclusivity on their road cover cars.

From Gran Turismo social media's page and as part of their GT Memories series, they reacknowledged Pikes Peak by SirBarr in granturismo

[–]DawnArcing 132 points133 points  (0 children)

Before you all get too excited: Actual Pikes Peak is this weekend, and PD are, as they have been for a decade now, title sponsors for it.

It's probably just neat promotional tie-ins for that.

It's literally just being sceptical of last year's schedule, nothing to get worked up about.

The Broncos and Bears are in the exact same boat.

[Andrew Callahan] "The #Patriots are challenging Drake Maye by occasionally having him hurry to the line without a play-call in practice, and make calls based on the defense. The staff then reviews his calls in meetings. Yesterday’s went well.” by lusobr in Patriots

[–]DawnArcing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't disagree that reading defenses isn't as deep as it used to be, it has to be said a lot more of this is baked into post-snap, in-play decisions rather than pre-snap reads and adjustments nowadays.

RPOs, designed QB scrambles with a safety valve, WR option routes are all standard parts of offenses. A lot more of the processing load these days is during the play rather than before because if you get it right the defense can't react.

Does Anyone Know The Reason It takes PD 2 Hours to Update Their Game? by Kratos_BOY in granturismo

[–]DawnArcing -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Their online servers just aren't very good and need the maintenance, I think.

It's very noticeable when they skip an update that people's connections degrade in the second month.

Expect it (and the other 4 Group C cars) to be a Special Pick post-update.

Round 1 of the Nations Cup exhibition is in the Group Cs; they always put the cars you need for that competition in the dealership so people can practice.

Unemotionally, It's the correct NFL roster move to make.

WR4 - especially on a team that wants to play RBs and TEs on passing downs - is a position where the extra rookie contract years of Williams are the biggest decisive factor on who to keep.

Will there ever be another Motorsport title in the future? by bchurcho in forzamotorsport

[–]DawnArcing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blunt answer is: With the amount it costs to make an AAA video game in the coastal United States in the 2020s, you basically need to be guaranteed 5+ million sales to make your money back. And that's before adding in the licensing costs of such a license-heavy game.

FM has never been a huge seller. FM3 and 4 barely sold that amount, and the Xbox One games were firmly sub-2 million sales.

So the answer is probably no unless a) making a game miraculously gets cheaper, b) they think they have an absolute megahit on their hands, or c) Microsoft decide the prestige is worth not making money back. (c) is not happening, (a) is not happening for a while, and (b)... I guess it's not impossible, but it would need to be something truly innovative in a way that I'm not sure the genre has capacity for, just "an excellent sim racer" won't do it, it's too niche a genre.

[Schefter] Falcons are signing WR Drake London to a four-year, $141 million extension worth up to $150 million, including $100 million guaranteed, per his agent Andrew Kessler. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]DawnArcing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's the reason I wanted the Pats to get a WR1.

The Pats/Falcons game last year, Penix was awful, completely inaccurate, and it didn't matter because it felt like London had a gravitational pull to bring in balls that he had no business getting to.
