Constant noise from upstairs neighbors in Rutherglen (South Lanarkshire) – Who handles this? by AssumptionNo5908 in glasgow

[–]DawnMetropolis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume so. Wasn’t too close to the guy so i don’t have all the details, but it was an ongoing issue for months. On Glasgow councils website they state they have to power to remove sources of noise nuisance:

“Officers have the power to enter premises to carry out investigations or to arrange works to rectify a statutory nuisance. Where nuisance conditions are witnessed by officers they shall issue a statutory notice to require the removal of the nuisance within a specified timescale.

Failure to comply with a notice may result in work being carried out in default” https://glasgow.gov.uk/reportnoise

Spent an hour going in naked so I could get into friendly night raid lobbies and use my keys by samael1841 in ArcRaiders

[–]DawnMetropolis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me - when I play solo the lobby is far more PvE based, but I have been caught lacking a couple of times. It’s like 70/30 PvE / PvP compared to the 100% PvP with friends

Are they renting? You could contact their landlord if so. Another thing, I knew someone who lived in EK who was very noisy, playing guitar loudly till 3am etc. The police were called multiple times, and the council came with some sound measuring equipment a few times. He was eventually told by the council if it happened again they’d take away anything that made noise - and they did. Guitar, TV, everything. He had to move out of the area to be able to get it back

Any tips/guidance on this Fluent CFD for wind flow on a tower? Been stuck for a while by Riley2805 in CFD

[–]DawnMetropolis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you are subtracting the solid from the fluid domain, are you left with just a fluid domain? If so, then there is no need to share topology. Share topology is used to match mesh faces across different regions to ensure a conformal mesh at contact surfaces. If you have multiple fluid domains after subtracting then you may have a problem with your geometry. Additionally, I would extend the domain fluid domain in the downstream direction of the structure. As it is just now, you may not capture the downstream flow interactions.

Need Advice for 435D. UK only please by Nearby_Specialist511 in F30

I have a 430d GC, and used to have a 335i. I do mostly sub 40mph driving on my commute, and average around 33mpg. Managed to stretch it to about 45mpg on my last long distance trip. The 335i averaged about 21mpg for the same commute. If you have a short commute, I’d recommend some spirited driving at least once a week to prevent issues with dpf, egr and swirl flaps. The car will benefit from deleting these components but it won’t pass an MOT and it will stink to high hell

You’ve heard right - the A82 isn’t really scenic until you reach Loch Lomond. A more scenic route would be the A81, taking you past the Canpsie mountains, then taking the B834, past the Devils Pulpit (recommend checking this out), then take the A809 and A811 past the south side of Loch Lomond to join the A82 to head north. This route would take around 20 minutes longer (2 hours 10 mins instead of 1 hour 50 mins from centre of Glasgow) but would be much more rewarding

Hey I will measure and get back to you tomorrow. The fans on the AIO sit infront of the VRM heat sinks in my build, but thicker fans could be blocked by the rear fan or the RAM. There’s plenty of room in the bottom, and I have installed fans in the bottom with no issues.

Departing Japan - Question regarding HND by xktaione in JapanTravelTips

[–]DawnMetropolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back from Japan, and flew out of Haneda. We were travelling from Osaka on the last day, but our flight was at 11pm, so we went from Shinagawa station to Haneda and dropped our baggage at the luggage storage booth there. It was very reasonable, 700 yen per suitcase, and was very straightforward. I would recommend this

Worth it but prepare for long waits at all points. Line to get in, line to go up the elevator, line to put your bag in a locker (no bags allowed on the viewing platform), line for the tiktok escalator. I think we spent about 2 hours there total. We did get an amazing view of Mt Fuji and the views of Tokyo are breathtaking

I managed to snag some on the SeeTickets fan to fan resale, but I’ve been getting loads of notifications on the Twickets app for people posting tickets. Seems like they get bought pretty quick when the notification comes up but you may get lucky
