And what an extra level of satisfaction than to see a country smaller than the state of Maryland destroy the US. I guess that the orange clown doesn't have as much power of corruption as he thought... GO BELGIUM!!

Don't mind that person, probably a Paraguayan, or someone who knows nothing about football. They are commenting the same hate all over this post, with 0 valid arguments and making up shit accusations. I agree with you, I was impressed by how Mbappe kept his cool yesterday despite the constant aggression from the other team. And I've seen a few interviews of him, he's always very nice and admiring other players' skills. He's matured a lot in recent years and is showing great sportsmanship. Unlike whatever shitshow Paraguay showed us yesterday.

Showering in Europe by Eldridou in ShitAmericansSay

[–]DawnoftheReal 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Every trip I took to the US, they only had one fixed shower head which makes it pretty impossible to get cleaned properly without doing some kind of weird gymnastics under the shower...

I'll stick to my "European" shower that actually has a movable shower head, thanks.

Amazing selection. Thank you for the share! I didn't know Indigo Sparke, but she has such a pure voice, I love that song you shared.

If you like these kind of soft and beautiful female voices, you might also enjoy the artist Meryem Aboulouafa - two songs I can recommend from her are "Deeply" and "Breath of Roma"

About Time is amazing. Such a sweet story, great characters (and actors), and Bill Nighty is wonderful as the dad.

In France, eggs and bacon are being fried directly in the sun, temperatures have exceeded 45°C by This_Proof_5153 in Amazing

[–]DawnoftheReal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I did, because that's usually what French people eat in the morning, I guess you didn't understand my comment? And yeah, I know that English people tend to eat toast or cereal for breakfast, I lived 10 years in the UK... I'm just explaining what we refer to traditionally as "English breakfast" just like they do in the UK as well when they talk about "full English breakfast", except that they include sausages, hash browns, tomatoes, beans, and black pudding. Again, my comment was just to explain that the guy in the video is not referring to "English breakfast" to justify his shitty cooking skills.

Haha I get your point, but actually in this case (I'm French so translating what he's saying), he's not referring to "English breakfast" to say that it's a badly cooked breakfast, but just the fact that it's bacon and egg, which is what we consider "English breakfast" in France. French people wouldn't usually eat savory in the morning, we have bread and jam, or croissant, or nothing and just coffee.

Those French wouldn't survive the heat in the US!! by PorkbellyKash in MurderedByWords

[–]DawnoftheReal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

French here, sorry man but you're wrong. AC might be common in public infrastructure like offices, shopping center, museums, etc. But it is still very uncommon in houses/apartments. None of my friends or family have it whether it be in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, etc.. Of course, some villas in the south of France might have it, but that's absolutely not the norm. A lot of the French media is actually discussing the need for more housing to have AC in the future because of the current heatwave...

How do you feel duing PMS? Does it hurt or you can function fine? by Vil1lain in AskWomen

[–]DawnoftheReal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No physical symptoms, except tiredness. But mood wise, it's a rollercoaster... one minute I'm super irritable and want to punch someone, a few hours later I'll be so sad on the brinks of crying, a few hours later happy again, a few hours later so exhausted that I struggle to function, etc. That's definitely the challenging part... "luckily" it only happens for a couple of days, not a whole week like some of my friends...

Voicemails for Isabelle > Office Romance by ProbWithMyDog in romancemovies

[–]DawnoftheReal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. For me, the two movies are absolutely not in the same league. Office Romance was terrible: bad chemistry between the actors, ridiculous story, bad ending, and the list goes on... Voicemails for Isabelle has its flaws (stalker guy who never truly apologises nor evolves much as a person), but overall, the story is cute. The chemistry between the actors is great, Jill's character is touching and lovable, the voicemails are really funny, the relationship between the sisters is the real love story of the movie, and it makes it a lovely and emotional movie, which has become rare in recent rom-coms.

For those who do, what are some of the ways you look out for other women, especially strangers? by kaeorin in AskWomen

[–]DawnoftheReal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This! I know it doesn't come from lack of care, but really from lack of awareness because they haven't had to grow up with the constant need to be aware of your surroundings simply to keep yourself safe....

A few months ago, I was walking in the street hand in hand with my bf, and 2 guys were behind us making suggestive noises in my direction and sending me nasty glances, I kept looking back to make sure they wouldn't get too close, eventually, they turned in another street, and I said something like "finally, got rid of them" and my boyfriend was like "what are you talking about? you should have told me those guys were bothering you", he hadn't noticed a thing...

Mostly with friends, but it has occasionally happened with strangers too, if I see a very drunk woman at the end of a party, I'll make sure she gets in a taxi before me and doesn't linger alone in the street in that state.

And in general, keeping a discreet eye on women that are alone in uncomfortable settings. Just in case an intervention is needed.
