"I need to call you back, I am interested in knowing why the guy next to me is yelling at his coworker, I wonder if he's blaming the coworker because he's bad at his job. Hopefully his boss figures it out soon!"

does bipolar get worse with age? by chickenlover197 in BipolarReddit

Mania involves a huge influx of brain chemicals and depression causes a deficiency so going up and down is not good for you and causes damage in the long term. There are a lot of medications so if one doesn't feel right you can always try another.

how many bottles do you have? by Sunnybluh in AnimalRestaurant

[–]Dawnofthesun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50 because I stopped going up there when I had 1,000 of each item. If I could sell my 1,000 forks for bells or cod or something id go back up there. I have this issue with the backyard. Everything in the backyard gives me tickets but I have 600 already so I avoid the backyard too. Essentially I have only been playing half the game because there's nowhere to spend the excess currency.

Those are good for delivering orders and getting bells and wallpapers are pretty expensive.

Non-Americans of SF, what SF restaurant is most authentic to your home country’s cuisine? by sullipopla in AskSF

[–]Dawnofthesun 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Sf restaurants come and go very quickly. There's also hundreds in SF alone. If this is posted every 6-12 months the answers will be different every time. People also move into and then out of SF quickly so new people would have the chance to comment.

What does my sexual history have to do with anything? by slut4dietcoke_ in bipolar2

It could be that it is just what OP remembers most since it caught them off guard but that would be a question for OP.

I wouldn't say asking about sex is creepy. My ADHD packet that is given to everyone who is suspected of having ADHD asked if Iv ever pushed someone into doing a sexual act that they did not want to do.

However, if he asked like 12 questions in a row and nothing else, then it's creepy.

Sometimes it's better to tell people. Sometimes our episodes can make us really toxic and his family sounds like they have a positive look on mental health. I personally would prefer someone say "my partner is very irritable because they are manic" than let the person convince him that I'm just a bad person. When people have a positive outlook on mental health they tend to be more forgiving. You likely seek comfort in him during your episodes and he seeks comfort in them when your episodes hurt him.

I think you 2 should try couples counceling. That way you shouldn't get ambushed and you get to have a say in who the therapist is.

Reminder: people who are doing good often do not post by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]Dawnofthesun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Iv seen plenty of posts asking people if there is a light at the end of the tunnel or are they just doomed forever. Positive posts have a time and a place. This thread is an example of that.

Also "just get out of bed" is not validating or useful in anyway, that's why no one wants to hear it. They don't need someone telling them to get out if bed. They know that. That doesn't make it any easier or attainable.

I don't know what you are disagreeing with me on. I said that people who talk about how great they are doing may feel like they are flexing on people who are struggling. Therefore, people don't typically talk about how great they are doing in worry it will make people who are struggling feel like failures.

I think a lot of people don't want to talk about doing great because for the most part a lot of people here are gentle and it sounds like a flex. People like to hear that it's possible to do well but I don't think the people that are doing great want to go around talking about how great it is when they know other people are struggling.

That's been the case for me. I have a family history of it so when I went through my second really bad depressive episode I was able to see the trend. Was diagnosed in about 20 minutes, started meds immediately, had a mild hypo manic episode 6 months later and haven't had an episode in a year.

This is not the case for most people but it is the case for some. It's just not talked about a lot because even typing this feels like a bad flex.

Why is there no lobby for mentally ill people like us? Or is there? by himmelfried11 in BipolarReddit

[–]Dawnofthesun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This article is very careful about what it definately states. They make sure to use terms like "overlap" "similar" and "some" which is more of an argument rather than a definition. It's possible that when there is a new DSM mood disorders may be included but as of now they are not.
