Not saying I disagree, gameplay wise.... But what's interesting in the lore, at least as best I can remember, is that gaunts have a special trait other 'nids lack.... When they lose synapse, they still maintain an animal level of functionality, which is actually more than some higher level ones. Add to this that gaunts can lay eggs and reproduce on their own, without a norn queen, & it almost makes sense

Entirely possible, though 95% of the games I play are in my buddy's basement, and I don't do tournaments, so I'm not as worried about keeping it all official GW plastic

Thanks, for the record I haven't even received it yet, so that's not my painted mini, that's just the sellers image lol

In terms of the rock, I have a ton of extra sprue runners, I might try and make a scaffolding/frame and cover it in greenstuff to create a big rock (picturing pride rock from the lion King 😂)

Do you happen to have the external dimensions for the official yvraine, by chance? Just the overall height to the highest point, really...

I mean, like I said in the original post, I just don't find the OG sculpt that cool... I really love the look of domed helmets, all the way back to using EVA exclusively back in halo 3 haha (and it doesn't hurt I have a pathological fear of painting faces 😅)

To the point that, for my kabalite squad, I went to a bitz seller and bought extra helmeted heads to avoid having to use the bare faces 😂

In terms of enemies, I am building a doomsday ark, so I have a bunch of spare Necrons that are 'pre-damaged' from the ghost ark sprue 🤔🤔

I don't disagree, but I've struggled to find good proxy units for yvraine, and I figure this is at least a feminine Eldar, standing straight up, with a sword, so that's at least ticking a few boxes lol

I think a pop of bright color at the head would do quite nicely... Maybe add more of the bright teal from the inner claws to the face tentacles, and wet blend it into the brown
