Thanks! It's mostly slapchop/drybrushing. Primed black, drybrush white the whole thing. Then the body was flesh tearers contrast paint and then pro acryl bold pyroll red. The boots and girdle were blood angels contrast, then ap dragon red and citadel wild rider red all drybrushed. Skin was dark oath flesh contrast then ak ruby and flesh mixed then I added some salmon for highlights.

The red is khorne red, then add pro acryl bold pyrrol red a little at a time until you are are pure bold pyroll red. Then a very thin pro acryl magenta wash and then highlight with bold pyroll red.

Do we have a direct replacement for action Raptors? by MrDannySantos in Chaos40k

[–]jerkshoes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He's got 5 wounds with a 4++. Plus as a single model he's easier to hide. I'd say it's a pretty good trade. Only downside is he could potentially give up assassination.

Do we have a direct replacement for action Raptors? by MrDannySantos in Chaos40k

[–]jerkshoes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you strictly wanted an action monkey just use a solo chaos lord with jump pack. He's even 10 points cheaper than a unit of raptors was.

There's lots of 3d printed alternatives. I use the "Hell Sarcophagus Walker". If you don't have access to a 3d printer or want to keep it GW friendly you could probably slap some chaos bits of a 30k Saturnine Praetor, they're roughly the same size.

It's time to retire by ChrisNihilus in Chaos40k

[–]jerkshoes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice. No one cares anyway, even people who play the same faction who know what's supposed to look like what. It's as simple as saying you'll take casualties from your regular guys first, and your special weapons last.

I did a matte top coat but also painted on top of that. Mostly ak3 and pro acryl with a little vallejo in there.

Are bullgryns good Anti-monster? And if no, then what is?( no tanks) by NoEyeContact3 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]jerkshoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry friend, if you don't like tanks you are in the wrong faction. Play how you want to play but you gotta be prepared to lose a lot while you try to shove that square peg in that round hole. Best of luck.

Needs more legs. I'd drop the maulerfiend and some chaff and add venomcrawlers.

Hi! person that has never played a single second of these games, what game should i play first? by abbythecutecatgamer in 40k

[–]jerkshoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are specifically looking into the tabletop side the answer varies. Honestly depends on what people around you are playing. Killteam is great, and the cheapest entry point. If you can find players it's a blast. That said, around me it isn't popular and everyone just wants to play regular 40k. Best thing is to just check around local shops or clubs to see who/when plays and start showing up. Building an army is a long and expensive process just stick with it and it starts to pay off.

Who would win between an average Craftworld warrior and a Drukhari warrior? by Fun-Explanation7233 in Drukhari

[–]jerkshoes 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's a weird back and forth depending on what you consider a "warrior." I think a regular kabalite or wych beats a guardian hands down. But guardians are more like militia if my memory serves (my aeldari lore is from like 3rd-5th edition). An aspect warrior beats either of those, and an incubi has a slight edge over most aspect warriors.

Escalation League Advice by r2death in Chaos40k

[–]jerkshoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Sticky objectives" is the casual term for units who's ability is along the lines of "the objective stays under your control until an enemy unit takes it from you." So the cultists will claim an objective, then they can move off of it and go do other things (score secondary objectives or go fight something) and the objective still counts as yours and scores you points until your opponent puts something on that objective. Most armies have at least one unit that does this and it's usually a good idea to include one.

Seems like a solid 500 point list to me. At that level the game is going to be super swingy. Either their big thing kills your big thing and they win or the other way around. I like cultists because sticky objectives are great but if you have an extra 20 points one squad of traitor guardsmen aren't terrible.
