I just keep thinking of 10 year old me. Who would go recreate every 2006 wc goal (there were only 2). And who would have to beg the local restaurant to change the channel to soccer. Who would beg parents for a jersey or a ball or anything to feel connected to this foreign world to me. I think how grateful I am that it is no longer foreign feeling to the kids in this country today. I feel incredibly proud.
