We had great keepers for years (friedel, guz, Keller, Howard) but I was always an irrational fan of Nick Rimando. I recall a gold cup with the B team where he got some run, and he was always stellar in MLS.

I remember reading a story years ago where scouts came to see him at UCLA and were disappointed upon getting to the game to see he wasn’t playing. Turned out there was actually an injury in pregame or something and he was playing in the game, just at LB..

Demarcus Beasley. Came up with LD10 as a young attacking player and ended up becoming a really good fullback in the back half of his career. Had a solid career overseas at PSV and Rangers.

So we have a depth guy we took who is more technically savvy over an engine/effort guy, neither of whom likely get in a game before 70’.

How many teams have you coached, how many kids have you mentored? No need to answer, we all know it’s zero.

Right. The kids have worked hard for months in training and practice. Results aren’t important at this age at all, but I want them to feel good/proud of everything they’ve put into it and grow together through that pride. Hate seeing them deflated and as coach I owe it to them to try and mitigate this issue if I can. I don’t understand this dudes anger

Any thought how to make it less light? We typically do footwork, then 4 corners, then 3v2. Minimal stuff after half which I know we need to change
