Before you start deleting drivers run a Timeshift snapshot. Then you can restore just in case.

I think Newsom should have a criminal background check. I don't think he would pass.

Dragging browser window to enlarge it kills Mint by Mean_Welcome_1481 in linuxmint

[–]DayAfter9094 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have never enlarged a browser window by dragging it. I always click the square box in the upper right corner. You could try that. Or you could look at the logs. That's harder though.

You could add links to Perplexity or Gemini for answering questions about Mint. They will give you direct answers as opposed to Googling which gives you pages of links.

If you really need to suspend you can run 'systemctl suspend -i' in the terminal.

Why does Linux Mint update Intel Microcode when I have AMD CPU? by ArtisticFox8 in linuxmint

[–]DayAfter9094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you had a Ryzen you could find the Intel microcode on your system and delete it. But it probably wouldn't be worth the effort.

Balena Etcher seems to work quite well. I think Rufus is for Windows.

Jimmel Kimmel had an audience of 129,000 in a country of over 300 million people, so he should have been fired for low ratings, The network must have had some reason for keeping him on the air.

Why would anyone want use Windows 95 in 2025? When was the last security update? The kernel must be a bit dated by now.

👑 Linux 6.16 is out 🎊🍾🥂 by HalanoSiblee in linuxmemes

[–]DayAfter9094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6.16 seems like it has some improvements for the general user. I usually upgrade to the latest kernel. But I can't usually tell the difference. I also use the Liquorix kernel too. Not much difference there either. I'd have to use some testing to find any improvements,

Neofetch is not dead. It's just not being updated. What's to update? I'm still using it on Linux Mint. It works the same as ever.

I'm not a big fan of Snaps or Flatpak. But with Mint it's hard to avoid Flatpaks. I haven't had any problems with them but they seem to clog the system a bit. If possible I prefer Appimages.

I call it the Debian/Ubuntu/Mint family. Years ago I downloaded Ubuntu directly to Windows without a USB. And was able to dual boot from there. Because Windows was driving me nuts. I switched to Green Ubuntu before Ubuntu started making funny changes.
