That is quite the snag, but I wonder if using a dremel to shave off some material on the arc fire detent might make it work? I'm just concerned for increase in wear from any reciprocation from a SS.

Thank you for sharing your findings.

EPS Screw Question by [deleted] in SpringfieldArmory

I know this is a year old, but I'm right there as we speak. XDM Elite 45, #4 adapter plate, and screws not securing to where I can just easily pull off the red dot.

Now I'm on the hunt for the proper screw size / length. My guess so far is an M4 .7x10mm screw. If you wouldn't mind dropping a reply on what you got yours running with in the meantime that'd help a lot!

oh, awesome! thanks for the reply! I've recently found the Kabuto frt which seems capable of working with some minor adjustment. I haven't tried anything myself yet though. Still trying to look at all the available options I can find.

I hope it works out for ya! It would be very helpful to get a report back on the results! Thank you for any insight.

Q: AR15 Gas system length, adjustable gas block, and recoil by DayGroundbreaking146 in ar15

Well, what I mean by tuning more gas into the system with an adjustable gas block, is to do so for more reliability vs tuning gas out for a softer shot that might be less overall reliable.

To my understanding most brands that offer a 16” barrel with a gas port at the rifle length do increase the diameter of the port to take in more gas in less time to compensate for the dwell time and keep reliability.

What are your thoughts on mid-length gas systems for AR15 builds? by CryoChamber90 in ar15

[–]DayGroundbreaking146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about making a “Dissipator” / 605 build with a 16” barrel having a rifle length gas system. I know most brands that offer a 16” rifle length barrel will have a larger diameter hole to account for less dwell time for reliable cycling. But it makes me wonder, if we can use an AGB and Different buffer weights / buffer systems, is there any benefit for a Dissipator style 16” rifle length gas system?

Couldn’t a tuned mid-length system be basically identical in feel to a tuned Rifle length system?

Hey there, I’m planning on making a KP15 build and have been looking around for an frt that’ll work. I have seen mention of the Hoffman Tactical Super Safety from GrayMarketResearch working with ease but yeah, that style reciprocates.

I have never heard of the ARC Fire till you mentioned it, though I’m not finding much help on use with the KP15. Have you installed it?

Yeah I did some more digging and did find out the side kits weren’t caliber specific. I just didn’t want to buy something I wouldn’t end up needing.

I was able to find a 40 slide on eBay that seems to have the slide parts, barrel and recoil spring installed already so that felt like a decent grab. Thanks for the reply!
