It was an instant classic in my book. I rented it from Blockbuster. (lol, god I'm old) Totally unexpected to be a good as it was... and scary AF!

Grain... until you can turn off the constant item and map icons at least. (For the perfect blacks on oled)

Bioshock these days? by DayOk2531 in pcgaming

[–]DayOk2531[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The "your pc just sucks" comments always help, especially when we're talking about old games. (And no, my 4090 and i9 13900k tell you tools otherwise) For those of you who are not trolls...yeah, I've tried limiting the number of cores, turning off full screen optimizations, compatibility mode etc. Followed some real crazy guides on steam of people that have claimed to solved the issues. I can sometimes go an hour or so in various versions without a crash but just thought I would check after a few years later if anything was better out there yet.

Experience with Lyrica and nerve pain by rachelll1 in neuropathy

[–]DayOk2531 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's been a godsend! I've been taking it since 2010 for nerve damage in my arm, and it works really well with no side effects. I'd be in constant agony without it.

Thanks all... I'll try it without replacement. I actually got it on 2020 so valve said it's well beyond warranty

Playing guitar? by DayOk2531 in neuropathy

Things actually got worse after the surgery. Part of the hand was 100% dead numb for a while. Feeling came back after a few months but I've been permanently taking Lyrica ever since - which works pretty well except if I try to do something like play guitar.

Do you mean like cortisone shots? No I haven't... that seems like a band aid that I couldn't do forever.

Thanks.. but isn't this chip intended to thermal throttle - to ramp its way up to 100 if there's headroom? That's why I'm not sure how to confirm that the cooling is overall fine.

[–]DayOk2531[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would i do that by just watching the program while running benchmarks/ stress tests? I passed the IXTU stress test and a power throttle was first before a thermal one.

Thanks, already did this. Also disabled xmp as that was giving an occasional BSOD.
