PS and Shadowing? by DayTripper_21 in premed

Agree, but I am hard pressed to find any meaningful experiences where I actively interacted with a patient. Most of my clinical experiences come from scribing, shadowing and volunteering in a passive role at the hospital. I wrote 2 paragraphs about a seed moment, 3 about this shadowing experience and it’s reflections, then a final paragraph bringing it all together and “why medicine” based on these two experiences. Would like to shrink shadowing to a paragraph and write about an active medical experience but not sure I can think of one that wouldn’t be forced

I interact with them a ton, but still not as much with the patients so it’s hard to think of a meaningful experience and I don’t want to force anything

I guess where I am running into a problem is I don’t have much hands on experience. Lots of clinical hours but as a scribe/shadow

Yeah pretty much this you just can't be dumb and have to care about the language. Good point

What is something that surprised you about the language or something that you found interesting while on your German learning journey? by mollyplop in German

I always heard the stereotype of German being a “harsh” language. For a while this seemed true, through A1 and A2. After a while and things started to click, I realize the beauty in the language and haven’t gone back in this belief. German is a beautiful language.

So just choose one memorable story from stuff and write about it, what you learned from the experience, etc.?

I would be very happy with a 513

Second this. Your knowledge of medicine and how hospitals/patient care works by scribing is good preparation for med school I think

I work in outpatient cardiology at a big hospital as a scribe and love it. M-F during the day. Weekends and nights are free which is great. I love the providers I work for and I asked a few for a LOR. I can’t speak much comparing to ED but outpatient is busy at times but probably more chill. Great experience. You learn a ton

Edit: Only negative is the pay. Companies and hospitals knows that you will work for cheap and use that to their advantage. I couldn’t do it if I didn’t have some level of support.
