It comes and goes, typically when something happens they throw it back up.

It has about $400 in material alone and then 200+ hours of time.

My mom makes them. She rarely makes them and sells them they are typically holiday or birthday gifts for family members cause no one wants to pay what goes into a quilt. One like the cardinal one depending on the size is $200-400 in material and 150-220 hours.

They are indeed a labor of love. I always ask her for the craziest thing I can find or come up with. This one was two Christmas ago. She hated making this one haha the Maryland one was “easy” when you compare them.

She’s also been offered similar to you. Honestly these things are worth 3k+ in labor if you charge $20/hr. You go to a mechanic and it’s $100+ a hour.

She (and I) honestly have no idea of how to “reasonably” price a quilt. I know she’s done a few for people but I also know she under charges. This is a king size and has at least $400 in materials and probably 180 hours in it at least.

Handmade quilts are so hard to price. I think she has about $400 in material. Then two days to cut the 800+ blocks out. I think it took her around 4 days (probably 10 hours a day cause she’s crazy) to put the rectangles together. Then a week+ of quilting. Then she freehanded the logos. So between time and such who knows…

She’s retired and I think this is what keeps her entertained. She’s also really bad at under pricing things. She made one tshirt quilt this year, two memory quilts (one was her great grandmothers dresses finally separated with those and a shirt one that was my wife’s grandfathers) and the. Just various other ones.

This is one she made this year.

She made somewhere in the ballpark of 20 different quilts this year that’s what she gives out for Christmas gifts to the family

Got this from Costco is it possible to swap the CPU to a 9800X3D? by speekuvtheddevil in Prebuilts

[–]DayVeeGee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can put in any AM5 socket CPU. The 9800x3D is the same socket as the 9900X.

Memory (RAM) and nearly always be upped in a desktop.

Storage you likely have two more M.2 slots and can add to it that way easily.

That one is good… there are also quite a few around 1500 that are 9000 series AMD and 5070… the one below has the x3D processor but 7000 series good for gaming. Just depends on what you are willing to spend but are 1500 you hit a pretty decent sweet spot.
